Seems to me, the way out of all these traps is to become self-supporting. Get a job.

Anyone ever been to a police interrogation as a (semi) multiple , how might that go? Just wondering what to answer to questions like "what did you think" "why did you do this and that" (I'm not the one in charge of anything though), can I answer: "Well, part one thinks it was awful. Part two thinks it was great. Part 3,4,5...75 thinks..." and "I did not do anything. Can't answer on behalf of part x, and he's not saying anything right now" ??

Hi

Exercise your right to remain silent. Absolutely, completely silent. Do not speak without legal representation.

Police psychological interrogation techniques do not favor a suspect. Any discrepancies in your recollection will not be interpreted in your favor. Even if you are not a suspect, an inaccurate recollection of the events will not be interpreted well.

Be safe... Brett

Hi scharah,

Brett is right. Don't talk without a lawyer and be sure to tell your lawyer you dissociate so they know your memory doesn't work all the time and they can figure out what to do about it. Also maybe explain to your inside people that they should remain silent too. Cops don't understand DID and everybody can get in trouble if even one alter gets weird or something.

Good luck,

Semi-multilple? Are you median, Scharah? (I noticed you didn't actually say anything about memory loss, but made it sound as if everyone was aware of what happened.)

Anyway, I hope this goes well, no matter what they ask. The lawyer thing sounds like a really good idea. I hope you can find one that understands your situation.

I don't seem to understand the question :D Is median a type of alter? I was diagnosed with ddnos, so I don't know if I have DID per se, my therapist said that in the hospital they probably thought I have only one "day personality" and no huge memory losses so that's why I'm not necessarily a DID. When I say "I" I mean all the parts, don't actually know what part "scharah" is.

But yikes, never had anything to do with the police, this is also the "FBI" of my country but maybe I used the wrong term; I'm the possible victim with few others in this case so it's not the same as being suspect. I was wondering if I have to mention my condition to the person doing the questioning anyway... because I do have the very angry aggressive alters/parts and if I say stuff, or more if stuff comes out like "I often feel like blowing up people" and "sometimes I want to join a crime organization" then maybe that's not good. But it's possible that happens..(meaning its possible I say those things, not actually do them, my ocd part overpowers my angry parts..)

We are doing timelines with T. That was Tuesday. Today is Thursday. With a vague recollection of somebody telling my T that 'she' would probably turn up next week but 'I' would not be there and finding myself in a railway station 150 miles from home shouting 'police I need help' I have to say that the police in Merseyside are brilliant. Dogs are brilliant - it seems we all feel responsible for our dog which means we can't bugger off and do what we want when we want because we have to make sure the dog is ok. Suffice it to say we are back home feeling a little shell shocked but all in one piece as much as 'one' can be. I need a shower.

LittleMie, I'm glad you made it home ok.

Today I told my therapist, "I think I might have a dissociative disorder." And he said that was very likely, and later in the session he said dissociative identity disorder, almost like he was sending out feelers to gauge my reaction. He said he felt like bipolar gets over diagnosed and to him it's obvious that I have a trauma related disorder.

Baby steps but it feels like progress.

Wow LittleMie! That was pretty scary. Glad you made it home.

Hi Kudzuvines, You've got a good T! :D He sounds ok with DID because he didn't freak out or change the subject or diagnose you with something else. Are you ok?
