good for you. for us an ECG is a major trauma trigger and we've been know for having panic attacks, extreme flashbacks of torture and dissociating in the middle of the process.

Thinking of you, birdsong.
Sending lots of good thoughts and safe things your way. Can you drink some tea and/or do the steam horn exercise?
Please update how it went, if you would like to.

Didn't know about that, just tried to bolster you a littlebit with optimism.
Still hoping that it will be fine this time.

Hoping you're ok, birdsong. Can they give you something for anxiety before the ECG?

we have a trauma-informed GP, which makes a few things easier.
basically he said we need a 24-hour ECG, which is still triggering but it is easier to discriminate than one where there are wires connected to wrist and ankle as well.
he confirmed that what is happening is not really within the healthy range with just a small device to clip on the finger.
basically he said that the test results of any ECG will be messed up as long as we didn't work through this trigger, so testing now makes little sense. we have to observe the symptoms, see if anything changes, and work with our T to prepare for a full trigger elimination. it means that we might have to do the 24h ECG twice or have messed up test results at the beginning of it.
it is kind of tricky to do testing under these circumstances. medication might affect the results. Dissociation affects them too.
It was helpful that he understood the problem himself without us having to explain.

I am all for optimism but it can't invalidate other peoples feelings and fears. That is not how support works

Feeling great today :)

Having very good training results, especially within the last months,
learned extremely much about the indicators for each alter, when they are becoming co-conscious,
learned about when exactly my alters are usually blackout-fronting during the daytime/nighttime,
and last but not least, got the best possible marks in recent university-exams.
