I am at a terrible place in my life. I have no job. No money. No intimate relationships. I am 36 and living with parents. I found poker 1 year ago. I learnt the strategy to beat it by studying.

So now my old scratch-off urges are returning

Man, this thing will really come at you from all angles. I bought 60 bux worth the other day. No more since then. What a waste of money. Here I am breaking my butt to save every dime; t's amazing how strong the pull can be and it comes out of nowhere.

I don't know what to do other than to keep fighting the urges as they come.

Are you embarrassed about your gambling/addiction?

I used to be ashamed of the fact I am a pathological gambler.

Most people that have known me for any length of time are aware of my problem.

I wouldn't dare share this information willingly but that has changed. I'm no longer ashamed of being what I am. I accept it and am trying to move ahead. I will share my information willingly when appropriate to do so.

Time and time again I worked a decent day and then made my way home and decided to drop into the bookies.
It really hit a nerve because this guy has children he neglects and one day I would like to have children and hope to be far away from this type of scenario.

Future gambler

I have this obsession. I like to go to the casino for food and ambience. I like to watch high rollers play. Seems like every weekend this is almost always the activity I like to do. I never bet any money but I like to watch and analyze the cards. Am I at risk?
