*Moved to Significant Others, Family & Friends Forum by mod*

Hey there!

I'm actually new to all this and decided to join so I could have someone to talk to about everything I have going on. For starters, I'm a 20 year old female with a 3 year old daughter. I work, in college, etc. all that good stuff and recently about 4 months ago engaged into a serious relationship with a man whom has ...

Breaking away from Bf (NPD)

Many here have had to break off a relationship with a narc. I can see that NC seems to be the only way to do this but what about the break up talk.

Advice? Keep it brief? It's not you, it's me?

I have to do this but I know he will fight it tooth and nail. We will argue and I will end up banging my head against the wall or he will 'cry' ...

I'm new here and am hoping for some opinions. I have been struggling with my husband for a long time now. We currently live in a different state than we both grew up in and we live near no family or friends. He claims to not ...

Weed and schizophrenia?

Hello,
I have a friend who's schizophrenic. He doesn't drink at all and stays away from weed for he believes his state could improve if he stopped doing these things. But recently I've visited him and saw he was very obviously stoned. He had difficulties with focusing on the conversation and was speaking in a confusing way. I know him long enough to see when it's the medication and when it's something else. Not only ...

practical next steps to help severely impaired relative?

It's my first time ever to go to a forum for help...never done the tech thing too much...didn't even know what a "thread" was. Reading a great book but guess I need faster practical ideas from the world. I will try to be brief, but everyone is so unique that you just want to go into every detail! My aunt, uncle and mom suffer varying degrees of mental health issues and come from who-knows-what but ...

I'm in love with... A Sociopath

Hi everyone. This is my first post on these forums, and I figured it would be a good way to get more information and see what other people think about the situation that I currently find myself in.

I've been with his guy for a little 2 years. We broke up one time over the summer last year when I initiated a break up, but got back together 2 months later. Yesterday, I decided to ...

Payee? for Schizoaffective boyfriend?

I am in a relationship with Earl. I love him dearly. But, he is not managing his money very well since he "fired" his last mental health agency's payee. I am going to ask him if he would be willing to have me as his payee. Will he hate me eventually? Has anyone had a successful relationship with a partner when they have become their payee?

Should my schizophrenic bro and sis be moved to a new state?

**this post is being moved to significant others, family & friends with a shadow topic left in schizophrenia so that you can get the support of both forums

My brother and sister (in their 40s and early 50s, respectively) have both had schizophrenia for the past 23 years. They are both on medication and live on their own in their own apartments but don't work. My mother, now 82, has been their main source of ...
