have you guys read

I wonder if you guys have read " The unbearable Lightness of Being" There is a whole section on depersonalization and a person's relationship to his/her body.

Also Have you guys read " Anti-Oedipus" by Gill Deluze or " The breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" by Julian Haynes?

What about " The Mask Of sanity"

Just wondering what you guys think about these books..

Anyone recover from existential OCD?

Hey guys, I dont know what I would call what I have but I will call it existential ocd. I constantly question whether this world is an illusion or not. Has anybody had similiar thoughts and recovered in the form of no longer fearing/becoming depressed by the thought and possibly finding belief again that life is real and not an illusion?
Thanks so much.

Joe.

Medication?

I'm seeing a psychiatrist for the first time in a couple of days and was wondering what are your experiences with medication and severe DP/DR? (I may be DDNOS as well) I've had my disorder for about 13 years now... I'm currently 20. Don't post if you're going to go on about other methods such as introspection and a good perspective, because believe you me I am a veteran there. It's time for something new.

Just a post, wondering if anyone can relate...

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but some of my experiences have been bothering me for a while so I'm just wondering if anyone can relate I suppose?

I have been reading about depersonalization/derealization briefly so I'm still confused on what they mean exactly (I'm dx'ed BPD so I know dissosciation goes along with that to a degree). I can relate really strongly to the symptoms of both though but I haven't had ...

Crossing Over

I had originally posted this on the forum for Manic Depressive disorder, which is my diagnosis. I think that this area may be a better fit (so I'm "crossing over"):

This is nearly impossible to describe, but it's become a problem recently:

Lately I've felt a great distance from myself, as though I'm not entirely here (...my brain is tripping). I don't notice it much until I'm away from home. I live alone apart from ...

Might Be A Long One

I'm a seventeen year old female-to-male. I've been living with existential feelings since I was about twelve. Recently, I think I managed to split myself into two "alts" (I don't suggest I have dissociative anything, but this is the only way I feel I can describe it). I've always been a very emotionally-driven person, and the past two psychologists I've had tell me I over-think things. They, and myself until about yesterday, didn't realize that ...

Question: Do you cry?

Do you cry?

If so, how often, and why? What usually causes your crying?

I rarely cry, and when I do, it's only during movies.

Extremely irritated being "alive"

Sometimes I get to the point where I am extremely irritated or uncomfortable with for instance, sitting in my chair. I don't want to lay down, I don't want to walk or even be in the presence of anyone even myself. I get irritated from having to be anywhere even when I am sitting at home, I find myself irritated that I am in my own skin (so to speak).

Why is this?

Psycho-Stimulant for Distorted Sensory Perception

Hey - I just wanted to share here what I'm gonna be trying next month with my psychiatrist. I have a chronic state of dissociation, where my senses are completely blunted or distorted. I've had this chronic distortion for 8 years straight with little to no relief from it.

Based on past experience with adrenaline & caffeine which seem to have a positive effect. My psychiatrist is gonna let me attempt to take a psycho-stimulant ...

Humans

Does anybody else look at humans, and see nothing but an animal? Nothing but a bag of flesh and bone? Even miracles such as childbirth?
