Relationship Breakup: Unable to Cope.

I've just stumbled across this forum and wishing I had found it months ago! I've known I had BPD for a couple
of years and made a few attempts to find help but always failed. I've been in a relationship for the
past 18mths and was desperate not to ruin it by my behaviour as I had previous relationships so
tried to go for CBT when the warning signs started but unfortunately the psycologist I ...

Father Had BPD

Im new here and I just came to the realization that my father had BPD and I need help. Any sort of input would be greatly appreciated! I have spoken with quite a few people who are educated in BPD, but they really arent helping.
My father passed away due to cancer in 2008, I was in nursing school and working to take care of him at night while my mother took care of him ...

Mother Dearest... I hate you

I hate my mother. She picked me up from my classes yesterday and wanted me to wait while she ran some errands. I begged her to take me home because I was anxious and sitting in a car for a seemingly endless amount of time makes me feel panicked and out of control. She starting ranting about how selfish I am, how I only care about myself, and don't think about her time or her ...

Are there certain individuals who "grow out" of BPD ?

Hey all,

My question stems from exes mom who discouraged ex from therapy because as she said "Things that happen(ed) in this house, stay in this house." Again after telling therapists she was all for ex getting help to their faces.

Ex said her mom told her she is in her 30's now, and mom had the same problems but they all go away because you will grow out of them. Not sure if exes ...

WTH just happened?

I met her at social gathering, sociable, engaging, funny, and very charming. She's bold, the first to make the move. First date went well, went too well…ended up in bed together. Couple more dates, smiles, eye to eye, kiss and I’m hooked. Within the month, she's talking about how we’re soul mates and I’m a unicorn like her…rocked herself to sleep often, which I thought was strange but she told it was her coping mechanism ...

So on edge the last 2 days..

I can't stand this feeling. I had a pretty bad breakdown last night when I had to wait an additional 30 minutes to go to my friend's house. I cried for an hour and fought the self harming thoughts. I have no patience..none. Fu**ing ridiculous. Every time I do this I wonder why and what the point was. Then I hate myself for acting so idiotic.

I am a ticking time bomb right now. Anything ...

Benzos Are Not Fit For BPD

My mom has been doing research on the correct medications for people with BPD, I'm sure for my benefit but it increasingly bothers me haha. Anyways, she came across multiple sources that said that benzos increase impulsivity for people with Borderline Personality Disorder.

It bothers me because I like to take the occasional Xanax for situational social anxiety.

Just thought I'd warn everyone that its a possibility.

Now that I think about it, one time ...

Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde

Dear BPDers, I sought out this forum in advance, whilst waiting to receiving confirmation or otherwise of myself being a BPDer, looking to understand the unknowable. Instead, I am now more confused than I was before.

Mental illness has never been something at which to fling stones and yet I see, amongst some whom profess to have BPD, a preference for rock projectiles.

Has someone of sense something to add that will help in accepting ...

Shoplifting

Do any of you have issues with impulsive shoplifting? For me it goes hand in hand with the risky sex/reckless driving/binging and purging. The built up tension, giving in, eventual relief. I've done it often in the past year or so. It's always on the spot and I never plan it out. I just see the opportunity and go for it. I do notice that every time my mindset going into it is "###$ it ...
