Is BPD a potentially something mongering disease ?

Hello.
I am a Japanese BPD patient, but I am not satisfied with the diagnosis of BPD.
I have a simple question about BPD.

In Japan, some psychiatrists think that BPD is a something mongering disease.
The reason is that the present number of BPD patients is much smaller than that in 1990s. Furthermore, the majority of Japanese psychiatrists tend to imitate the US psychiatrists, since the level of US psychiatry is much higher than ...

Hi, my first time here

Hello everyone,

It's my first time posting here. I have been living with depression and anxiety for about a year now (actually I think they were always simmering beneath the surface for several years but only re-exploded a year ago) and have been having a pretty rough day. Fortunately I'm having one of those rare moments on days like this the chattering monkey that is my brain has taken a rest and I feel composed ...

Recently Diagnosed, Need Advice

I've recently been diagnosed, and am wondering if I should be explaining myself to people who have "misunderstood" all of my odd behaviors, detachment, and emotional distance...

What did you guys do when you first found out?

Did people just label you as "handicapped"? Did it help your relationships after knowing about your condition and sharing it? Were they understanding?

Any feedback would help a great deal. Thanks...

I have started to realize, I have NO in person friends, the friends I do have are more than happy to be friends, as long as its done strictly online. The last time I had someone that was willing to hang out with me more than once was back in 2009 (im 26 yrs old, ...

Changing your fantasies

The notion of changing your fantasies is mentioned in a book I've been skimming ("The Elusive Orgasm"). See pages 202-206 for the full explanation. Admittedly it's a book written for women to help with orgasms, but I believe the technique could work for men and women.

The scenario where you might attempt this would be if your fantasy negatively affects your arousal, because it doesn't match your current sexual situation (e.g. if your fantasies do ...

is it normal?

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 29wks along, baby has been perfectly healthy so far, a little ahead of the average.

Yesterday I was in a car accident. Went to hospital, was monitored for 4 hours and the ob and nurses were all very happy with my blood work and the baby's movements and heartbeat. So I was allowed to go home.

Today I've barely felt her move, and when she does it's really sluggish. ...

didn't expect this...

I have PTSD as a result of childhood abuse, had it for years now, was diagnosed at 15 but I know I had it long before that. So I do get flashbacks of that trauma, but not too often anymore.

What has surprised me is that just hours after the car accident I was in yesterday, I started having flashbacks of it. Any time anyone brings up the accident, or it comes up in my ...
