Annoying questions.

The question/suggestion I'm most sick of hearing and having to answer:

Are you gay?

How in hell does someone not dating for long periods of time equal them being gay? Gay people(overall) date as much, if not more, no, scratch that, waaay more than straight people. I know, I've lived with a few. It's mind boggling how otherwise intelligent people can somehow come to that conclusion...

Any other questions you're sick of hearing?

Sharing/borrowing of abilities between alters ?

Hello everyone !

I have not yet been diagnosed with DID or DDNOS but my symptoms converge towards that (and my psychiatrist has finally agreed to better assess my dissociative symptoms! Yay!). Recently, my possible alter, Ralph, has told me he could not calculate when I'm asleep. And I can "sense" when he's calculating and what calculation he's doing. And when he calculates, I can't calculate, it's like my brain is too busy to answer ...

a turn for the worse

I thought things were getting better...
My grades in college have been good, friends are good, family good, and I just got a new job. I see and appreciate all of these good things, but I still feel a gnawing pain in the pit of my stomach. The past couple of months I’ve been ignoring all of my issues hoping they’d just go away, but every now and then I get a surge of anger/sadness/even ...

Crossing Over

I had originally posted this on the forum for Manic Depressive disorder, which is my diagnosis. I think that this area may be a better fit (so I'm "crossing over"):

This is nearly impossible to describe, but it's become a problem recently:

Lately I've felt a great distance from myself, as though I'm not entirely here (...my brain is tripping). I don't notice it much until I'm away from home. I live alone apart from ...

Strange

This is nearly impossible to describe, but it's become a problem recently:

Lately I've felt a great distance from myself, as though I'm not entirely here (...my brain is tripping). I don't notice it much until I'm away from home. I live alone apart from my cat. When I'm speaking with someone and I have this feeling, I feel as though I shouldn't be talking to them because I can't focus on anything. Part of ...

I need advice on how to get healthy

I thought it would be a good idea to ask here. I'm really skinny... and I need advice on how to get back to normal. This is very difficult for me to explain, so I apologize in advance if I don't make any sense.

I tried to compose a list of things to improve:

- I've been reading about metabolism and that eating just once or twice a day keeps low metabolism, which is bad, ...

literal thinking---funny

up until a few years ago, when i heard someone say a baby has to be put on the mothers chest when he/she is born to bond with each other, i wondered when they put glue on the baby and mother and why they were pulled apart if they were supposed to be bonded.
another thing i thought about is when people say they are close to another person, i would wonder why thye would ...

I am Fortunate

I have been fortunate in my years of recovering from my past to have had and still have therapists and psychiatrists with the same belief system as I have. I am a Christian and having a psychiatrist who is a Christian and then finding a counselor that is a Christian has been life-changing.
I only bring up the Christian aspect for one reason. I find I do better with people who have the same belief ...
