I'll be perfectly honest in saying that I found both the old and new versions of The Exorcist amusing. The old one was so ridiculous that it was funny, and the new one was just typical of all modern horror films (i.e. nothing I haven't seen before).

The scariest film I ever saw was Event Horizon.

I also think the exorcist is comical, I don't find that so scary. Nor, The Shining though everyone seems to think that is scary, to me it's more like an action movie. But I don't watch many horror type movies cause I think it is strange people want to see movies with the intention of scaring themselves.

It's hard to say which movie was the altogether scariest. I was very freaked out by: The Changeling though it is a long time since I saw it, then all movies about the cruelty of the Nazis (holocaust movies) scare the $#%^ out of me.

I think that the 'new' exorcist is probably the one that you've seen. There was an older one, however, released in the 1970's. It was even funnier than the new one. Why could it 'happen' to you anyway?

OK the new exorcist might be scary for all I know. .

But I probably will not go to see it, because I'm too scared. :P

I've been watching horror movies since I was 5 years old. Unfortunately I'm immune to "scary". hahaha!!! If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be thrilled to check it out! I'm a huge fan of psychological and supernatural horrors. No slashers please, blood is just not scary.

Watch Event Horizon then, and then get back to me. There is very little blood in it. Okay, lovemyhubby? :)

For me creepy stuff just is not creepy it all. The scariness of a movie to me depends much more on the suspense factor. The jack-in-a box effect.
Like when captain Dallas descended down that ladder in the Nostromo and the Alien suddenly leaps out of a dark corner.
