Shoes and purses ROCK!

Permanent Linkby Koshka69 on Mon Jun 27, 2011 8:12 pm

Well, mom came back from the Saturday family gathering with me. Yesterday we laid around all day like sacks of potatoes watching chick flicks and random tv shows. Was good to just lay around in our pajamas all day :) Today we decided that re-joining the human race was a good idea and went out shopping and for coffee and to a bookstore. We went to a shoe store and since shoes are like a drug to me (and her) we walked out with our arms full (and doing happy dances because everything was 40% off and only one item was actually full price... woohoo!). Funny, I now know where I get the "must go go go" gene... my mother. She was totally aggitated by the end of the day yesterday about having laid around and done nothing... and I was the one saying "hey, we deserve a day off!" Learn something everyday...lol!

LW- jumped on this morning and read your blog and giggled at your remark about keeping up with my blog... I do the same with yours! I TOTALLY laughed my butt off at your comment referencing our "age" with our VD remark... OMG THAT WAS FUNNY!!!! Well, just so'z you know... I thoroughly enjoy your verbosity... your posts are interesting and I've found a kindred spirit who also seems to be missing a brevity gene...lol. So you just keep posting your long posts... I read 'em!!! :D

Well, going to peruse the books I picked up at the bookstore (and hopefully my couch will not suck me in and smack me into unconsciousness like it likes to do....it's sooooo comfy!) Got a book about moods by the pdoc who first introduced Lithium as a treatment for BP, and another book that's a memoire of a girl who had BP from age 4 but was undiagnosed till adulthood... it looked pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of fiction... one of those geeks who likes biographies and true crime. I like to "learn" when I read, so my only endeavor into fiction is Nicholas Sparks novels (I LOVE those, but can't bring myself to read them atm with my beau and I being apart and our story is very much like the "Allie" and "Noah" characters of "the Notebook"... we call each other Allie and Noah... ugh... twinge). Oh, I need to get off THAT topic... NOW.

LW- def want to write back on your blog posting about your bf... when me poor brain is recharged, I shall write a response... because while reading it I had about a million thoughts to type back to you. Hope you had a great Monday :)

Yeah! A blog post! :) I used to have a shoe fetish too. It's nice you had a pleasant adventure with your mum :). I like non-fiction too. I like history and politics and docos about anything really. My brain is a sponge with a thirst for new information. My curiosity about the world doesn't seem anywhere close to being sated. I'm sorry you are having a period of grief re your ex. Like I posted on someone else's thread "Grief is the process of the hole, that they left in our lives, closing over". I thought that was a nice expression, even if I do say so myself lol. Narcissistic? Who me? :o
It actually sounds like you are pacing yourself quite well. Have the urges to entertain lessened, and has your preparedness to follow those urges lessened due to your awareness around the issue?

LW, I'm with you... I'm a total junkie for learning. I remember as a child I loved reading and even back then read biographies. Maybe that was the beginning of my interest in psychology... learning how others live and think. Oh, let me tell you, I had to completely grieve losing my bf (even though I'm not quite sure if all is lost, I had to, for my own healing and sanity, resign myself to the possibility that he may, indeed, end up not being a part of my future). Took me a while to do that. REALLY like the quote... it's so true. And you know, the hole never FILLS... grieving really does just close it over so that we're strong enough to continue on. The quote is spot on!! Well, yes, I think I'm pacing things a little. The urges to be the "perfect hostess" don't seem to be as strong or overwhelming. I still am cooking more than usual (I totally eat like a single person when I'm alone...cheese and crackers for dinner, anyone? lol) but don't really feel compelled to fill each minute with excitement. Suppose that's progress. I'm a bit more aware of my tendencies, so I'm making a concerted effort to every now and again tell myself to relax a bit... so it's going well thus far. And no, you silly goose... you're not narcissistic! We all have to admit that we HAVE to be at least somewhat self-interested enough to protect and take care of ourselves!!! And (giggle) probably a good thing we're continents away from each other... could you imagine us shopping together? Watch out Prada!!! LOL! :)
