Re: What are your sleeping habits

I go to bed at three or four am, get up around seven am average. Sleeping more/later or napping will inevitably make me more tired.
The most sleep I need to function is three hours, but I try for five at least so I won't be dead the next day.
If there's any light at all I can't sleep. I've slept through fire alarms but wake up if a door creaks.

I think all this is stuff I've made myself do just not to waste any hours, but like people have said, I rarely do anything during these hours. I did stay awake for two days once, just to try it, and was surprised at how easy it was for me.

Now that I'm done with school, I usually go to bed at 4 a.m. and sleep until about 3-4 p.m.. I need 11-12 hours of sleep to feel refreshed. So basically I'm a night owl.

Normally I get about 5 hours straight plus a 1 hour nap later in the day.

lately I've been napping an hour here , 30 minutes there...totalling about 4 hours max. I work at nights but I'm preparing for full time school again so I'm testing my mind and body's limits to see how it would be like ....working full time and school full time. Having no relationship obligations is a boon in this scenario.

You rise from your grave? Or you attack anyone wearing purple?

Wow. Good luck with that. :)

My sleep's erratic. I can't keep to a routine, and coffee makes it worse. When I'm in a depressive phase, I can sleep half the day. When I'm in an obsessive phase, I don't need much sleep and I have trouble getting to sleep because I can't stop thinking about stuff. (That makes me sound like I have bipolar or something, but it's not really that dramatic.)

I managed to work a job that required me to be on a bus at 5 am (I set my alarm for 3:30 am) five or six days a week, so I'm okay with getting-up early if I have to, but I much prefer not to have to be anywhere until 10 am...I like to have a few hours to myself in the morning, to get ready and eat breakfast at my leisure.

Night owl and early bird. I generally go to sleep at around 2:00 or 3:00, and get up at 7:00 for work. If I sleep "late" on weekends, I'm usually still up by around 8:00 or so. I usually sleep very little, and am most awake/aware during the night time.

4-6AM to 12-2PM. Sometimes I can't sleep because of anxiety. Any stupid little thing can snowball into anxiety enough to prevent me from sleeping at all. My thoughts are most active at bedtime. When I spend a night/morning sleepless, my sleep hours during the next week or so are all over the place. I've been up with no sleep for two or three days on a row several times. It's like the more sleep-deprived I am, the harder it is to sleep. But then when I do sleep, I do sleep... I can't be sure, but I think my record was 35 hours straight. The easiest moment for me to sleep is after a large meal.

I often have trouble getting to sleep, but I have no trouble staying asleep. One time the house alarm went off, it didn't wake me up. I often have trouble waking up at the time I'm supposed to, and the simple fact of having to wake up at a certain time can make me very anxious (which of course, doesn't make it easier for me to get to sleep). I can't sleep normal hours, and I need at least 8 hours of sleep. It's always been a major problem. I probably would have graduated and would be working normally if it weren't for these sleep problems. I've been seeing doctors for years about this, but no treatment or plan has ever helped. It's been a problem since 5th grade, when I first started to have classes in the morning.

If I don't actively regulate it I don't even have a sleeping pattern. I generally try to keep one as it's healthier though. I make an effort to go to sleep around 11-12 in the evening, and I usually wake up seven to eight hours later.

Need about 9-10 hours to feel ready for the day, can't sleep until about 1.30am have to be up at 7am for work. So,I basically feel done in all the time. Sometimes get 10 minutes accidentally falling asleep in my chair at work in the afternoon as a bonus... winters the worst, feel like hibernating. I swear I'm more closely related to bears than humans.

I still attend school, so I have to at least try to stick to some sleeping schedule. I need a minimum of 7 & 1/2 hours to not be grouchy. I can live on less, but I get deadly tired after a few days of not enough sleep. Ideally I sleep 8 or 9 hours a night, 10 when I can. I go to sleep between 11 PM and midnight, sometimes later. I'm definitely a night owl, I have to remind myself to go to sleep before midnight. I have great trouble getting up before 8 AM.

I used to suffer from insomnia when I had depression in my teen years. The insomnia lasted about a year, nearly drove me insane. I couldn't fall asleep before 2 AM, but had to get up at 6 for school, so I lived a year on less than 4 hours of sleep. It contributed to my depression and nearly drove me to suicide. I learned to value sleep after that and now I sleep as much as I can.
Not all those who wander are lost.
