I read before falling asleep, so i takes some of my sleep away. I sleep about 4 to 5 hours then its what i call between sleep and awake for another 4 hours.
When i was working it was about 9 to 10 of good sleep hours a day.

My sleeping habits are cyclic in a way. They go from stable to unstable almost uncontrollably. I need a ridiculous amount of sleep to function optimally - like 8 or 9 hours. Any more than that screws with my brain. I can survive on less though. It seems 6 hours can be enough some days, even 3 (although that doesn't last too long).

My sleeping habits are fairly chaotic.

Interesting, it looks like most people here are reporting that they need more than 8 hours on average...

I am an early bird, although I usually go to bed at midnight or 1am. I typically get up at 6:45 for work, or my cat wakes me up earlier than that. The latest I ever sleep to is 9. I can live pretty happily off of 5 to 7 hours.

I dunno if anyone else feels like this, but I hate getting up later than 9, too, because then I feel like I'm wasting hours of the day doing absolutely nothing. And even if I have nothing to do, I feel an itching need to get myself out of bed immediately, because otherwise it just bags at me the whole day.

I usually go to sleep between 7 and 8 and get up around 430 am.

They are completely random. I try to keep my sleeping habits normal (i.e., midnight to 7 am) for class, but they invariably get screwed up at some point after I normalize them. So, sometimes I wake up at 4 am, sometimes at 8 pm, and sometimes more normally around 8 am. :?

Yes! Although I thought it might be an age thing, since I was entirely capable of spending 23 hours a day in bed as a teenager, asleep. Has miserable effects on health, for the record.

I can cope with less than 8 hours sleep, but it's not pretty.

I've suffered from insomnia this week and it's on the increase. I've only slept 3-4 hours last and the other night.

Off topic: I thought I started this topic less than a month ago and I've started it in 2012.
