Why so many pedophile topics?

Are there simply more pedophiles, or does it happen to be the most distressing paraphillia of them all, causing more to post about it?

I have wondered the same thing. I believe it is because pedophilia is more likely to cause distress in those who have it, due to the societal stigma and moral issues inherently attached to it. I have no idea whether or not pedophilia is more common than other paraphilias. *shrug*

I find that it helps to come to forums that talk about pedophilia because as a pedophile it is hard to talk to people in real life about my desires and attractions without getting the cold shoulder and looked at like I am some kind of monster. Where at forums like these I can just say what I want without really worrying about upsetting someone because I am not seeing the reaction. I guess it also helps me to come to places like this because then I can vent what is on my mind rather than to make a stupid mistake and act on my desires.

In my opinion, I think that it is the most distressing, obiously I don't know but to be honest the only paraphilia I knew of before going on this site was 'pedophilia', and I had been taught how horrible it is e.c.t. pedophiles have really bad names to themselfs and it's unfair of the amount of pressure we deal with therefore making it very depressing, so yeah thats what I think anyway.
P.S. I'm sure any other paraphilia is distressing too, I'm not doubting that.

Pedophilia is simply no longer society's dirty little secret.

It exists. Period. People want to discuss it and educate themselves on the topic which is no bad idea. It is in everyone's favor that we learn about pedophilia to allow us to stop demonizing pedophiles therefore driving them underground and off the radar waiting for achild to get raped when we should instead be offering them help to stop the rape occuring in the 1st place! Prevention is better than cure and an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind!

Stop being afraid of change and, more importantly, open discussion on topics people know too little about.
