Honestly whats your opinion of other schizophrenics? Theirs a lot of talk on here about how schizophrenics arn't accepted and it would be a great world if they would be.

In your opinion what causes schizophrenia? Their are many theories: poor nutrietion, chemical imbalance, drug use, mutated genes, harsh experiences, etc...

It's really frustrating for me becuase I would really like to know why I hear voices and am mildly schizophrenic. Is anyone on this stuff. Theirs a lot of contreversy surrounding it. Dr. Hoffer (who started using vitamin B3 to treat schizophrnia in the 1950's) claims that vitamin B3 can actually cure schizophrenia. Of course phychatrists write it off.

Whats your experinece with vitamin B3? I've been on it for 6 months and I'm not sure how well it works, becuase I still hear voices. But I think it helps me psychologicaly becuase I feel ...

Is there anyone reading who has been truly helped by these medications? If so, how long have you been on them, and in what way have they helped?

Latley I have been feeling very different than usual. I know that something is wrong with my mindset, yet I can't figure out what it is. I have become socially withdrawn, and I seem to be extremley depressed. My thoughts are very unorganized and often times I am unable to carry on a conversation because my thinking isn't clear.

If anti-psychotics don't cure schizophrenia then whats the point of taking them! I just don't get it. So they only treat it, ok fine. But whats the point when you feel even worse then before, I mean you honestly couldn't feel better when your constantly gaining weight and being sadited couldn't be fun either, you can't read, work or perform in many daily activites. Their is a repetitive theme that keeps being mentioned on previous posts. Simply put schizophrenics are not accepted by society. But what is really meant by that? I mean what is your experince of not being accpeted?

When you hear voices, do you hear them in your ears, or inside of your head? I mean do you hear them as you would hear your own thoughts (but on a different channel in a way), or as you would hear someone else in the room talking to you, if that makes sense?

I've had this thought recently about getting a dog. I find it so hard to get accepted by people, most people think I'm crazy. I was thinking a dog might do me some good. I'll feel less lonely but they are a lot of work. Was anyone in a similiar postion and find having a dog helps them?
