Negatives/Benefits of diagnosis?

Hey all,

I've posted in the past on these forums, and have been giving quite a bit more thought, lately, about AS. To kinda bring people up to speed a bit, there's a person who I feel I can identify well with, who has AS. The more I'm getting to know her, and the more we relate/talk, the more I'm realizing how similar we are. Since she's been diagnosed with AS in the past, I've ...

I think I have it. Help?

So I think I have aspergers syndrome. Its taken a while for me to admit that but the evidence just seems to keep piling up.

When I was little (1-7th grade) I had no trouble making friends and relating to people, but then I just seemed to hit a wall. Its like the rest of the kids kept maturing and I was stuck at the same level. As time went on this just got worse ...

Does this sound like AS..?

Hi there, I am new here.. I am a concerned sister for my 40 year old brother. I am so desperate to know if my brother has AS. I have never broached the subject with him because I would really like some opinions first before approaching him..Let me describe my brother and try to give some examples of why I question if he has AS or is he just...difficult..? I hope that isn;t offensive. I ...

Chances of misdiagnosis?

I was declined by the British army because i was diagnosed with asperger's at just 9 years old. At the time i had to go to a school type of thing with people who were around 18 years old and i didn't really talk to them much apart from roughly 2 people who were my age at the time.

I am going for another assessment soon, but i think my chances of a misdiagnosis are ...

Hi Again, Depressed

Hi, I used to post here but havent for a good while.

I realize now I probably dont have pure aspergers, but I have some aspie-like traits.

I tried posting on another forum, but it seems dead, so let's try here.

Im physically and socially awkward and have a terrible memory for facts - I tend to think in abstract concepts. All of this makes for lousy conversation, and few of my peers would enjoy ...

Do you enjoy white noise?

I always enjoyed the vacuum cleaner sound and hairdryer sound. I remember sometimes following my mom around while she was vacuuming the house when I was little. That, and the warm air that came out of the vacuum cleaner.

Everyday after taking my shower I just sit in my chair and spend around 15~20 minutes with the hairdryer. Whether it's just listening to the noise or feeling the warm air, it's one the best and ...

Possible Misdiagnosis?

I've been recently declined for the army due to having asperger's syndrome, but i think that i may of had a misdiagnosis. The army is a piece of my heart which makes me feel really emotional due to the fact i cannot join.

I was reading this thread asperger-syndrome/topic46385.html and it seems like i do not have any of these issues apart from the eye contact which isn't really ...

Extreme sad to extreme giddyness?

Over the last few weeks I have been REALLY down...Don't know why, I just have. This seems to happen a lot. And just now I realized that I am no longer sad, but really giddy.

HOW did I notice this? I was sitting on my bed and I went "leileileieleieieleie" and it made me feel really happy..lol I think I might do it again.

I think I'm manic depressant...it runs in the family.
