Dark circles/tired eyes.

I suspect I have aspergers, all the symptoms fit. when I first discovered it I felt relieved.
I don't want a diagnoses. I don't want to get on SSRI's/antidepressants.
I have always had dark circles under my eyes, i didn't notice until high school.
I can wake up feeling well rested and they are still there.
Recently I was looking at pictures of myself as a kid, and I even have them in the pictures. ...

NTs are on a spectrum of their own...

Does anyone disagree with this?
Does anyone not understand this concept?

Failed empathy stories

So this is just a funny thread... or tragic maybe. I tried being a very nice person for the last few years to get some friends, but it's gone rather badly, and I'm seeing a psychologist now and he is currently investigating me for aspergers... I always saw myself as a very emphatic person, but I'm starting to realize just how badly every emphatic encounter I've had has gone.

1.Typical childhood episode: Some other child ...

Aspie trait or just personallity?(ramble)

I really really need help with three things (well not exactly help, just need to feel less alone)

1, assignments are the enime! Each time I receive an assignment out of my Intrest, I will go out of my way to not do them! If it's in my Intrest I'll be really into it, but if not then you can forget about grading me! Did anyother aspies have the feeling of the impossiblity to do ...

finally giving in...

I think I'm finally giving up the fight to go through this without medication. I have finally become better able to understand how autism affects my mental health, and am finally able to accept that I could use some outside help. I'm glad I found a psychiatrist who specializes in autism spectrum disorders. Most people that know me, do not have a clue, or ever cared what I go through. They still have the nerve ...

Have you ever been in a situation where ...

Haha, I have your interest now

... other people are discussing Asperger's or ASD from an NT perspective, and no one knows you see it from an insider viewpoint? How do you feel? Does it annoy you? Do you want to tell them? Correct them?

I am finding that this happens now and again, and sometimes in a professional context. I would love to say, "Hold ...

My dad keeps asking: "What good are you?"

He's been saying it a lot lately...Like today he asked me what the weather was going to be like this weekend and I said I didn't know, so he said "Well, what good are you, then?" He says it jokingly and I don't know why it bothers me so much...

A few days ago he was working on my car and had me... gauge sparkplugs for him and I said I didn't know how, so ...

Dealing with "normal" people

Does anyone have any solutions for dealing with rude people who make comments about behaviors more specific to Asperger's? For example, when I'm at church I'll often have to sit outside the main sanctuary because it's too loud inside and I'm sensitive to sound. Because I'm sitting in a chair out in the lobby, people will come up to me and make rude comments about me "not participating" in the service. I tell them it's ...
