I gave that stuff up a long time ago. Most news sites have very shoddy news, and very little detail. They spend most of their time creating drama by taking one side or the other, or focusing on stories that will make people feel all one way or all another, and nothing in-between. It's extremely polarizing.
The one or two acquaintances I have, that are self proclaimed "news junkies", are full-up with anxiety and anger. Watching the news is like getting a fix. They yell at the TV, go to web sites where they can give their angry opinions, and rub elbows with like minded angry people, or spew hatred at people they disagree with.
Some of them even watch news channels they hate, just to despise the people they don't agree with.
It's like burning down your own house, or watching a dog bark at itself in the mirror.
Tick-tock, tick-tock - one day you're dead.
