Actually haven't started it yet...but I trust you Kevin! I'll give it a chance :)

Did anyone ever read Ted Kaczynski's manifesto?

I read the manifesto in high school and based one of my essays around it. I don't really agree with it anymore, although my brother likes it.

I am borrowing a book on the biography of Albert Einstein. And recently read Don Quixote, which was kind of strange and wordy. Also loved the New York Public Library Desk Reference book which I bought at Barns & Noble.

It's intense. You get the image of him (Ted) writing it with sheer rage in his mind. I think that while he sent parcel bombs to various peopl, he had already 'exiled' himself from society and was living in his little shack in the woods. As you all know, Ted Kaczynski is the UNA-Bomber. as far as I know, UNA stands for 'universities and airlines', as they were the two professions he targeted with bombs (specifically computer science researchers in universities).

I paid close attention to the news when all this was going down. I even saved the manifesto when The Washington Post first published it. (Ted K blackmailed the Wash Post and New York Times to publish his manifesto or he would kill again, and the newspapers thought it wise to go ahead and do so because they felt someone out there would read it and regcognize the writing style, and it would lead to his capture...and it eventually did.) I highlighted and annotated my copy..I was pretty obsessed. Don't remember much of the content now, but I recall his stuff about genetic engineering really scaring me.

When they caught Ted K. in 1996, I developed a little crush on him, but it was more the IDEA of him. I doubt I could actually be one of those fangirls that write to men in high security prisons. Plus I felt him to be so pure in his ideals...one of the few people on earth who could come so close to actually practicing what he preached. And I knew I was not so pure, and felt sure he'd hate me anyway....Yes, AvPD to the core--that's me.)

But in my dreams, I slew the dragon.
And down this beaten path, up this cobbled lane,
Walking in my old footsteps once again."

I'm reading Songs of the Humpback Whale by Jodi Picoult. It's o-k, not as good as 19 Minutes or perfect Match.

I'm reading "Touched With Fire" by: Kay Redfield Jamison she has some really really thought provoking ideas on Bipolar disorder and it's correlation to creativity.
