What book(s) are you currently reading?

Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

I recently finished Thérèse Raquin by Emile Zola. I'm hoping to read more of Zola's work. I share his view that humans are purely mechanistic beings whose behavior is caused by genetic and environmental factors. In fact, I've been looking for good authors who explore determinism in their work; looks like I've found one. I think I'll read La Bête Humaine next.

I'm currently reading The Origin of Species.

Hmm, I haven't replied here for a while, because I haven't picked up a book to read. I started one a few days ago entitled The inside: Trapped inside Saddam's brutal regime

Not enjoying Hamlet...I just find it so bothersome to read a few lines and say "zomg wtf did that say?" And then you have to read the footnotes and try to decifer what's happening. It's an interesting story nonetheless but too frusterating/complicated to enjoy imo

I'm currently reading "Forty Studies that Changed Psychology: Explorations into the History of Psychological Research", fascinating read if you're into the history of our profession.

Went to a book fair last week and picked up aboput 15 books. A variety self help/nutrition/history.

Just started Step Zero - Arnold Washton.

Has anyone read anything by Arthur Koestler? Read an article about his biography and got an interest in reading some of his work. Seems he lived in England, after Germany, Russia, and eventually came to America. Very interesting/controversial life.

Last week I went to a library closing and got 20 books at 50 cents a piece. I was so stoked!

Still reading Confluence, though... Haven't had a lot of time.
