Their lots of stories about schizophrenia induced by cannabis.

Of course theres no way of telling if these people would have never got schizophrenia if they never used cannabis but im inclined to think that in some cases they wouldn’t have or the schizophrenia wouldn’t have appeared so early and so intense.

Well as dbx pointed out using large amounts of anything can be detrimental to ones health, so cannabis cannot be singled out in this area.

Also, on schizophrenia and marijuana, the link is virtually non-existent. Those studies were completely biased and inaccurate. It did not measure long term cannabis use. If for instance, a person had smoked a single joint at the age of 15 and then developed schizophrenia at the age of 47, well then the illness was blamed on the marijuana.
Its a proven fact that people suffering from mental instability are prone to abusing drugs and risk taking behavior. So, it is not Smoking the drug which causes the problem, it is the problem which causes the smoking of the drug.

And people, stop saying things that basically translate as "You shouldn't do it because I wouldn't do it."

Yeah, agreed. There are cases where the drug causes the problem, of course, be that it just exacerbated something that might not have come out if that individual were never exposed to drugs or something that arose because the person could not handle it (addiction or other mental illness is the result)

Alcoholism, hello! Legal way to royally screw yourself. I have seen this destroy people's lives just as much, if not more, than any downer, upper, or hallucinogenic.

Survival of the fittest is my opinion. you should have the freedom to get yourself into trouble. If you get into something you can't handle society should be able to help you not just lock you up in prison.
