Hope its ok to post this on this thread.

Sainsburys

I cannot bear to be in Sainsbury’s
With the flood of present teardrops, falling
uncontrollably apples and pomegranates
amongst the pears and bananas.

The flick flap of wellingtons felt momentarily
Slapping against the back of naked calves both 40 years ago
And now but experienced in the same moment
And I’m 6 and 8 and 52 and knowing that there was once a happy time and I am overwhelmed by grief and also elated.

We ground ourselves
We buy bananas.
We pat the dog.
We are grounding ourselves.

We congratulate ourselves with a thousand metaphors for rebirth as we have done many times before as we explain what it is to each other.

I pulled out my old folder of poetry and found this. I thought it was appropriate to share here.

I lost my hope
when I fell from grace
but I can remember the time
I recognized the self
I saw in my face

now that time has passed
and in the mirror
it's another set of eyes that gazes back

why can't she be happy and free?
the way she used to be?
because things change
she says

because you've changed
I reply

her smile is sweet
when she tells me
from the choices you made
life isn't free
and debts must be paid

this woman isn't who i used to be
I wish I could find a way
to get myself back
when forward is the only way to go

the road not traveled
is the most insidious dream of all
that is why I am not the same
a different being
who answers to my name
I must learn how to hope again

To the woods!
To the water!
To the cliffs by the sea!
to find the me I used to be.

All I want is to feel safe again
Caption : "I never feel safe. Not in the oustide world, not even in the inner one. Everybody can be a danger. I can be a danger. I don't know how you can see me destroy everything around and still say "Alexis, I'm there, you're there, no one will leave or be locked again". You're the most crazy of all of us..."

Done with Alexis today. It's him as a coywolf, 'cause he likes those animals and sometimes take this shape in the inner world. Draw with a pencil for a quick shape and all the rest was made with a black pen.

A deadly beauty is this
that means to catch the sun
or be cast in shade can blink
a difference.

Another colour faces
through to the outside
for good or bad
bleeding through the
whole.

This is no salamander
more like oil on water.
This is still oil
This is still water
The colours remain the same
they just move in perpetuity.

This is a while old

Black Magic

Looking down
I see
That I am holding a small, black,
ball.
It is hard and cold and heavy
against my skin.

I take the ball,
the heavy, black, ball
and hid it in my pocket:
I feel its weight
pressing into my thigh.
It hits a nerve.

I take the ball,
And throw it against the world.
The world turns black.
It doesn't stick
the blackness is repelled
like oil on water.

Looking down
I see
That I am holding
a small black ball.
It is hard and cold and heavy
And it burns the skin.
