Dealing with my Psychologist -trigger language-

Today is the day. Another hour and a half and I will be speaking with doctor Kristol, for those who are interested in this dilemma.

I'm really nervous. I can feel Slap teetering somewhere close to the 'front' of that cavern. I keep asking her to step back, but to no avail. I work with a lot of very angry, hostile people (I'm at the quarterdeck for a brig/transient personnel unit), and it's hard to keep my mouth shut when she's so close. I work with higher ups too, and they don't take well to anything less than pure obedience/at least a smile on your face. And she wants to snap at everyone who even looks at us funny.

You let these ###$ take advantage of you at every step, that's why!


Och. It doesn't help that I HAD to drop my daughter off at the daycare center on base. Everyone inside is on high alert, waiting for 'The Phone Call'. For those that don't understand why this bothers me so much, PM me and I'll tell you (if you care. ). It has to do with a bad experience, and her being there is not helping my anxiety level, which in turn feeds Slap.... Och.

Anywho, this is an update for those that are interested in how this pans out, and an attempt to try to release some of this anxiety. If I'm talking too much just let me know!

is this that last session you are having with this guy? Is this the one that will help you get the referral to the other doctor? Play your cards right...Slap, if you really want to get away from Dr. Kristol, you have GOT to TRY to remain in control of your anger....I know it, it's really hard...but just think of how much better it will be when you get away from that horrible doctor and get to go to someone better who understands!

Reading that really helped! My goodness, I don't know why we didn't think of that. Thank you!!! She is just so hell bent on giving him a piece of her mind; now she's sitting back fuming because you are right! What if she spews hatred, and he says something like 'well, now I'm really going to keep you.'. We don't like the sound of that. We would rather be done with him completely.

I don't know who is so scared right now, but without Slap's influence, my panic is hitting overdrive. I might ask her to stay close and see if I can't get Lin to help out....he's been 'missing' lately.

Gosh, this is a handful, just to see a crappy psychologist! I'm leaving now....will have the results up once I get back.

He dissed Maureen! ###$ HIM!

What Slap means is: he stated that Maureen (new therapist) wasn't competent because she is a licensed social worker and not a psychologist. Meanwhile, she worked for years under a doctor who helped many others with DID and trauma... He said I needed the help of a competent psychologist. I swear Slap hit me so hard my head rang, and hurts like the beginning of a crappy migraine. She told him that she would rather stay with Maureen and would go out front and ask for our psychiatrist if he didn't send in the 'f***ing' referral. She told him he had been absolutely no help and couldn't deal with what we were going through.

He certainly cannot.

Well, umm...that's about how it went. I don't even know what to say about those two. I'm just glad Dr. Kristol didn't throw me out when Slap came forward.

Sounds like Lin and Slap both participated in the best way they knew how. The results speak for themselves. And it sounds like your system got to express some anger as well, perhaps a necessary implied threat? Do you consider it a win-win?

Did you get the referral sorted out?

Hey I'm glad it seems to have worked out! Yeah who cares if Maureen doesn't have a pretty psy.d. hanging on her wall? Sounds like the piece of paper that Kristol has hanging on the wall in his office is way more interesting than what he has going on upstairs...or anywhere for that matter...
