I only have a quick moment, so I didn't get to read all the replies... I just wanted to get my thoughts down in a hurry.
We believe ourselves to be naturally multiple, so I don't know if that makes any difference... but...
Often when we switch, especially when 1 person has been front for a while, they leave we call "residue". I'll give some examples.
Lilly has an accent. When I front after her, I have a trace of her accent for a few minutes. Not much, but some.
Julie is mute. The next fronter has a little trouble talking till the body catches up.
Becca and I have wildly different handwriting, mine is very sloppy (I'm dysgraphic, she's not). She gets frustrated fronting after me because it takes a little while for her handwriting to look like hers.
Rebecca has severe seasonal allergies, Katelynn doesn't. Becca loves fronting after kate because she gets a few moments without allergy symptoms before the eyes go haywire and the sinuses fill back up.
Our take on this is that each of us are "synced" to the body differently, probably even different brain waves. There is so much that changes when we switch, even eye sight and eye color (Kate has very blue eyes, Lilly's are greener, mine are more slate).
The body has to catch up to us. Lilly stands very straight, Becca is very slack. We know when going from Becca to Lilly, the body takes a while to tighten up to Lilly's straighter stance. I'm sure the physical brain has to catch up too!
Also, the body can only portray so much. When I'm pissed off, I start sounding like Becca. It's not her being close, it's not a switch, it's genuinely ME being angry, My angry voice just sounds like her. Unfortunately, people tend to think she comes out when I'm pissed and she's been wrongly pegged as my "angry side" - which couldn't be more wrong. It drives me crazy because some people assume I can't be angry, only Becca can. Again, way wrong!
Her and I also sound very similar when we're congested. My allergies are almost as bad as hers.
I wouldn't worry about it. For the record, we are vehemently opposed to us integrating and we are not concerned that we're starting to integrate. I doubt that's what any of it is.
