Help needed!

Postby Chris0194 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 2:16 am

Hello, I'm looking for some advice and I was hoping any other Systems/Collectives could help me... My name is Chris and I am a DID Supportive Singlet.

My friend has Undiagnosed Disassociative Identity Disorder and I was wandering if Incould get some help? I have interacted with a small number of the headmates within the system including two Fictives, one of the Gatekeepers, 2 Protectors and 3 Persecutors.. There is over 50 headmates but the System appears to be Persecutor Heavy, they have been experiencing Derealisation episodes on top of involuntary rapid switching and forced switch outs which result in severe migraines as most of you will understand. Ive looked everywhere for more information about the disorder but im not finding anything other than the generic stuff they show online. Can anyone help??

There is a ressource thread linked in my signature, some of the ressources are therapy oriented. :) Such as "Coping with trauma related dissociation" or the website "DIS SOS".

Remember that you are not supposed to be a therapist. That you cannot help someone who is not ready to be helped. I know it can sound harsh but if you start having mental health issues because you burnout or stuff like that, how can you be of help? It is difficult to find the proper balance.

What you can offer is a safe attachment pattern and it is a huge help especially for the persecutors (maladapted protectors). It takes time though.

You cannot be a therapist. You cannot wave a magic wand that makes everything allright. But you can hold the hand of the person and be at their sides when they go through stuff and that is tremendous help on the long term. :)

I myself suffer from Social Anxiety, I have traits of Autism but i have no intention of getting tested as my mom should have done that when I was young. Unfortunately I already know that I cannot help a person who is not ready to be helped or wants to be helped. When they are blurry or dont feel like socialising, I tend to remind them that they are in their own home and if they want to they can go into their "bubble" (this happens when they are using their playlist or need a moment to themselves.)
I've bonded with one of the littles, 3 of the persecutors, one of the gatekeepers and a protector over my years of watching them and those 6 alters are where my bond with the host is strongest, I always make sure to ask whos fronting, I actually helped them relealise that they were a system as they are still undiagnosed and through talking to the protectors, the NEW Host (so the original host stepped down at a very young age and the second alter who split when they were 6 took over as host) and one of the fictives (they have the role as protector) I learned more about when other alters have split as they have grown up.
We've been trying to get them into see a Psychiatrist or Psychologist through our local Mental Health Facilities who have a Psychosis area but they've discharged them which resulted in one of the persecutors to lash out in multiple Manic episodes and multiple attempts of SH. Some of the alters age every so many years, some dont age and some age with the body every year. Not all of them have names but thats because either they havent fronted yet and chose one or are still teying to process and accept that they are a system (Some of them are still in denial)

DID is not psychosis!

DID is a dissociative disorder caused by childhood trauma. In order to heal from DID one needs therapy oriented towards healing dissociation and trauma.

Have a look at the ressources thread :)

The Psychologist is because its not just undiagnosed DID he has, its literally a mess of other conditions along side.

The DID is 100% trauma based and can only be developed between the ages 3 and at max 9 years old, hes got Autism, Depression, Anxiety, Suicidal tendencies/SH and Homicidal tendencies.

Psychosis just an umbrella term for other disorders including Dissociative Disorders from what ive found on trusted Medical sites like NHS. The Psychiatrist is because of the Homicidal side of things as some of their alters are not afraid of hurting other people when they have Manic episodes.
