ADLs for dissociative adults

Postby TreeOfRazael » Thu Jul 22, 2021 1:49 pm

Hi everyone, my system has been profoundly struggling and we don't know how to care for ourselves anymore. This has been a chronic problem, but it's been especially bad recently. Several years ago, we lived in a residential treatment center, and we had a printout of about 30 daily tasks (obviously more than the basic ADLs) to use as a model for positive daily functioning. I saved the printout for after discharge, but right now it's in a storage unit in a different country, so I was wondering if anyone here had something similar to share. We just really need some help :( Everything in our life is falling apart because we can't manage our feelings or take care of ourselves, and we're completely alone in our recovery with no family or supportive peers.

Anything at all helps. Thanks for your time.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does "ADL" stand for?

Here are some ressources that we found.

Explaining what is ADL, how the lists are built, why it is important (might interest other readers of the forum):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activitie ... ily_living
https://www.kindlycare.com/activities-of-daily-living/
https://frontiermgmt.com/activities-of- ... checklist/

Science papers (might interest anybody, some checklist outlines):

https://academic.oup.com/acn/article/31/6/506/1727834
https://www.cfps.org.sg/publications/th ... le/221_pdf

ADL Lists (I do not know if this is what you are looking for and I apologize if it is not useful):

https://www.seniorplanningservices.com/ ... cklist.pdf
https://www.homage.sg/resources/activit ... iving-adl/

This one allows to take a disability quizz. I did not try it out do I do not know if it asks you to pay to read results or if it only suggests you what paying services you might need according to your results or whatever. https://www.disabilitysecrets.com/activ ... naire.html

Here are free lists for kids but they might be useful for adults too: https://www.toolstogrowot.com/free-ther ... t/date-new
Autistic | ADHD | NB transmasc (any pronouns)
Away for an unknown period of time
