Younger Alters. Possible triggers....not sure.

Postby Escape Artist » Sat Sep 15, 2007 9:56 pm

I have two somewhat young alters, one is 9 and the other is 3. Its hard at time to have them around and to be able to help them out and figure out their needs, sorry I'm having trouble articulating this...

But, how do you guys handle the younger ones?

I let them PLAY when they want to.

Their choice of fun and games every day keep the bad things away.
And it's fun for me too! Haha! :D

Oh and be careful letting them out to talk to adults. Make sure there's a responsible adult (alter) available to take over when need be, sometimes they might get scared by big people... this all depends on the kids' personalities though! :D

...and don't let em drive!

...*covers up wrecked car* ...heh heh uh....

hehe, I couldn't resist.

I let them play, they used to have coloring books but BJ found them and threw them away and yea...some other stuff happened but whatever.

So I'm gonna get them some more when we go up to CVS again.

wow, my little ones are 3, 5, and 9. i've noticed a lot of other multiples have child alters the same age. wonder if there are personality changes that naturaly take place at thoughs ages?

mine usually let me know what they want at the store. they're real good about it and very polite. like Deliah said, never let them drive! my nine yr. old went on a joy ride in town. went over almost every curb they had. it's a miracle we didn't get pulled over! i had to take care of some legal papers concerning my mom (she's dying of alzheimers, and i'm an only child). i was kind of out of it emotionaly at the time. didn't take me long to snap out of it. we can laugh about it now. i'm just grateful no one got hurt!

they're withdrawn when people are around, and usually just come out to play when we're alone. they ask me questions and want me to explain things for them. i have to be strong, because they can really throw a curve ball. you see, they hold all of the memories, down to the last detail. i don't want them around when i break don't. if frightens them. i'm always amazed at how brave and selfless they were. they have truely gain my deepest respect.

I have A LOT of child alters.
At first ai spoiled them, because I felt guilty that they were holding so much pain, and I wanted them to know I loved them the only way I knew how. But now, they share the stuff with new alters and we draw, and play and sing songs, or read books. We talk about the day and they help me when I need to be outgoing, or more imaginative. They also love bedtime stories and hugs, and anything Crayola. a few of them have special stuffed animals. They like to write in journals even if its just to draw a picture. Recently I designated a shelf in a new cabinet for their art supplies and journals so we could find them more easily and they LOVE having their own place. They also love talking to Eliza and getting hugs from her. Sometimes on special days we have tea parties.
I love my littles and I too respect them for their strength. They have definitely given me some good laughs and have helped me to grow as a person and a teacher.

We have a small fleet of stuffed animals. Only about 5ish, but we have two blankies which help. Can't have too many stuffed animals because we don't have any money for them.

What a sweet guy you have!!!
I usually sleep with a heating pad and 2 comforters and a baby blanket. Even during the summer I sleep with a big down comforter and I always have the heating pad or blanket (depending on what I have because you are right they do go super fasT!) handy.
I love bed. I want to go to bed.
But I need to do homework, and traffic school... oh bother...
