Co Con Shopping Fun

Postby Ashe42 » Sun Apr 19, 2020 5:51 am

My tax return came back. I didn't get a huge sum of money, but I had more then normal. So I decided that since I had some money I needed to get things for my new apartment. I also decided that I was going to spend a little money on each alter that wanted something. And told this to Asheron. He spread the word. This is my first time being aware of being co con shopping trip/web trip. (both)

Now Easter candy and its pastel decorations aren't really to my taste or aesthetic. So I didn't look at all the Easter sales, but as I'm walking through the store, a voice in my head says, "The lamb on the table" I stopped and went "what?" out loud before I caught myself. It was Asherons voice as it repeated so I start looking around and there is this cute little sparkly looking lamb stuffed animal sitting on the Easter discount table. Asheron told me Giggles used to have a little lamb, and her other favorite stuffed animal is a 24 year old cat that is currently in storage. So I bought it for her. I noticed once I got home that I was dissociating really bad while trying to put up groceries in my room, so I put some music for me in which seems to help me. When I got to the bag with the stuffed animal in it, I asked Asheron if it was a good idea for her to come out now for her toy. He agreed, so I kind of called out to her...fastest time I've made contact with another alter intentionally. It was like a wave of excitement and energy. I was co con with her as she saw it, and feeling her complete glee as she hugged it was actually tear inducing. She absolutely loved it, and it was an amazing feeling to feel. I wish I had filmed it.

Downfall is that I got everyone something, and not all of them have arrived yet. So I have this anxious wait feeling that's adding to the apartment coming. Every package is a second of dissociating while people come to and check if its theirs lol. But feeling each one of them be happy and excited with what they are getting is extremely satisfying.

Asheron requested more hot tea and a new cup to drink it out of. He got to pick the specific tea he wanted in store but still waiting on the cup in the mail. He doesn't like to host, so he kind of looks over my shoulder, when he peeks. (literally only takes control with me co con to drink his tea) It's my way of thanking him.

Raven's crystals are coming in the mail but probably wont be here for a week. I'm kind of surprising her, because Asheron relayed it too me, and I haven't shown her exactly what I got. Raven's very different from me. She wants to wear skirts and make up and flowy shirts...so when she's out we act too different around our family. She's anxiously awaiting the new place. and then I'll probably get her more clothes.

Dean wanted to subscribe to his favorite streamer. Which he did. And I told him he can have the twitch prime subs for the year since other than me no one else watches that stuff and I like that streamer too. Oh and he got to eat a cheeseburger, which he was disappointed in so I owe him another and I had to promise him 30 mins of exercise daily when we get settled in our new place. I can feel him more and more but, we have trouble talking directly.

Ashley spent some money on an app on the phone. She wants a bean bag but I don't know what to get in the room til we get in it. But she's also being promised a day of art each week. For me, Ashley is the tricky one, because we have trouble communicating, and she tends to be very depressed. I want to get her stuff, but I just don't know what to get her. I feel when she comes up cuz I get anxious when she's around. She has a lot of canvas I have bought for her, we've just not had time to do it. Asheron is very careful when it comes to her, being anywhere near front. (we actually spent more money then I wanted on apps but I guess what is done is done) :| Got the feeling she sort of got in trouble for it too. And I'm being told to take finger print purchase off the phone.

Chaos's stuff is mostly still in the mail, and safe, but could be triggering to people so I wont go into detail. He collects stuff. He likes to sit in the co pilot seat and distract me to keep my mind off of stressful things by flirting and being a goof. So I'm used to him hovering around as of late. Now that I'm accepting that I probably have DID I'm ever more aware of his presence. It's definitely comforting but can be very distracting sometimes. He's like a tough goof. Imagine Vincent valentine with cat ears cracking jokes and being flirty and that's the closest I can get to describing chaos. (chaos's wants were the most expensive and he and I ended up combining our money since I don't really need anything but groceries right now. And I made him cut his purchases in half after he picked so much lol.

Giggles was extremely happy with the stuffed animal and the promise of finding our other one. She doesn't come up much, and usually its only a request to watch a movie, like lion king.

Anyone else have any fun co con shopping stories?

Hi

I only tend to get something for everything for the official birthday or xmas but only recently and rarely go out to shop.

However last year a sibling (IRL) took us to a shopping centre some miles away (we live rurally and I don't drive - none of the system do) for a rare birthday 'shopping and lunch out' outing.

Now usually an appropriate 'social front' will come forward (who it is depends on which real life person we are out with) and handle such a trip and 'everyone else' stays well hidden. They may 'influence' or try to influence what we buy from inside if we pass something they really want if they have come close to the front but never usually takeover what the body is doing.

This time as we passed a card shop someone was dressed as a giant 'Tatty Teddy' waving standing next to a sign 'Come instore and meet Tatty Teddy' and before I knew it I was in front of this teddy shaking its hand and saying how much I loved 'Tatty Teddy'. I turned round to see my siblings face with a look of 'what you doing!

Managing to regain control I caught up to them (they'd walked on ahead) and just said 'What? I love Tatty Teddy' then found myself cheekily asking if they were gonna get me one for my birthday. We left with a large Tatty Teddy holding a birthday cake much to Daisy's (child alter 6yo) delight!!! :D

Yah that's scary honestly, but the system is pretty good at staying hidden.

Looking back most of my impulse buys are alters wants and not really mine. >.< I just had never bought them anything and so I wanted to make sure they all had at least something they could call theirs.

I don't think we've ever co-con shopped the same way. But we do have a wishlist of things for everybody. And when we go to the shops for things we need/want and we planned to buy (or simply to look around if there are interesting things at the second-hand store) we often think about what others would enjoy and buy for them if it's reasonable regarding our budget.

For example, Ulysses might go to the dollar-store because we have a list of things to get from there, and see some art supply or snacks or something that one of us could/would enjoy, and add it to the purchase if it's not too expensive. Or someone might be triggered by something they see, that would be added to the purchase if it fits the budget.

But we haven't done any shopping the way you did, with the exact purpose of having everybody get something they like.

Maybe we sould. It might be fun.

It was well worth it. Had to budget out. And some of the alters wanted more money but it ended up working out. We are going to be moving into our apartment in a couple of days or so. So I'm super excited can be more ourselves when we aren't worried someone is going to walk in on us.

Though with the CV lock down and social distancing rules shopping in public will be a nightmare for a while I'd imagine!

We're avoiding all contact due to low immune system. Only slipping out early to walk the dog when no-one else is about, so glad we don't live near town anymore now!

The official birthday comes up soon so we've been asked what we'd like by family to keep us occupied, so we may choose some more art materials or a new game for the switch.

Doesn't look like the 'social mask' alters will be needed for some time if we won't be able to go out for a birthday meal and can't have any visitors.

Yah we make sure we only go out if we really need something. And we always wear a mask.

I'm the least at risk in the house, despite being a little jumpy in public so I'm on and off doing the shopping for three different households essentially. (my grandma is letting me do it for her and I wear a mask the entire time I'm there too.
