Do they?

Do your parts have to sound( thoughts) different in your head? Like from one alter to another?

Like my thoughts. No difference between them. No accent, no childs voice. None of that?

Yet, you are aware they are different by the way you post about them, when the denial is less, right? Each system is different. For us two are distinctly different, also the only ones with any cocon with me. When it sounds purely like my voice in my head - it can be for something that lets me know .... I don't feel that way necessarily about x, y, or z so it must be someone else. Then I try to just be with it. Engage the conversation and tell my thought and this way I have gotten a couple responses and know it's someone else (my voice). Remember I am just learning like you and no expert just our experience.

I can tell sometimes yes. There is a different feel about the thought like anger or excitement but I have heard most people have different accents in there head. I dont. Even when my thoughts spoke a different language in my head it just sounded like my thought no different accent.

What hbodhi says.. You know they are alters, so why ask if it has to be different than what you are experiencing.
If I say to you that they can not sound like your own thoughts, would you then say you dont have parts? Because of what I say?
Take a look at your own posts, there are parts described in your autograph. You named and described them! So why do they have to sound different if you already know they are different.

Because the ones I listed dont speak through thoughrs. They are there because of the actions they take or want to take. Whoever is speaking through thoughts never sound different. I only know they are different by their emotions. Like thinking Cool I those! When liking Elmo shoes. So I know that is a child but its not a child's voice. I just wanted to know if that is what most others experience.

You keep saying this and it is simply NOT TRUE! Some people do, not "most," and if you don't, it doesn't mean they aren't parts. Even if you were the ONLY person with DID who didn't have parts with accents, because of your particular experiences, it wouldn't mean that you didn't have it.

I don't have ANY who speak a different language--so should I decide I don't have parts because none of mine do that and you have one who does??

SF had trouble discerning early on as well even though when they fronted I could certainly tell. I think part of it is staying covert. The whole, "if we make it sound like her idea, maybe she'll go along with it" thing.

My hunch (only a hunch) is it will be easier to tell as they feel more accepted and feel okay to "drop the disguise".

It was at least a year before SF was able/allowed to see 4 y/o Lou acting as herself. Even now it's only in short bits.
