Numb tingling limbs

Postby Muninn » Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:12 pm

Hi,

Since I "woke up" and whenever I am present or co-conscious in the actual body, I have a very annoying feeling of tingling numbness in my limbs.

There is also a quite notable ringing ear noise thing. It seems that the body has actually some form of tinnitus, but I perceive it much louder than others (and due to synesthesia I also "see" this noise all the time...). I guess it is probably just something I have to get used to unfortunately.

But the numbness seams to be new and appears only in connection with me. If I am here, I feel it prominently. Alea (our main host guy) apparently feels it too, if we are co-conscious, but not if he is present without me.

I wonder if it's because I have to get used to actual outside sensory stimuli after being so long only inside. Or what else could be the cause of it. It is distracting. I also feeling a bit nauseous and unfocused most of the time.

Anyone else here experienced something similar or has an advice on how to deal with it or make it disappear, apart from just waiting and hoping for the best?
Usual grounding exercises do not help with any of this.

Hi Rhea :) One of my alters is suggesting ginger. Asking if you have tried to eat ginger? They add saying root ginger. As for a long time, that has been known to help with sickness.

Also from me, maybe liquorice might help? Plain black liquorice.

The numb/tingling feeling, is it like "pins and needles" ? Where you feel like you are being stabbed with lots of little pins and needles. Maybe try massaging limbs before moving when first waking up? It could be that you are not used to walking in the body, after as you have said being inside for so long.

Maybe if you try moving your limbs as well when you first get up, like a gentle exercise.

Hope that helps and that it passes/you feel better soon.

Hi Purple Haze,

Thank you for your suggestions :)

Ginger was a good idea. I bought ginger roots yesterday and made tea and it helped a bit for the sick feeling in the stomach.
As far as I read in our journals, others of us experienced this feeling of motion sickness too, when they were co-conscious, because it's like one is at the wheel and the other has to kind of follow all the motion without influencing it. Since Alea and I have a lot of co-conscious moments that could explain it.

And yeah, the feeling I tried to describe is like pins and needles. The massaging didn't help so far, but it could take more than a day to improve that I guess.

I also suspect that the cause for strange body feeling could be something else: The body changed a lot in the past years and I am kind of hesitant to get "in touch" with it, look at it, feel it properly etc. If I try I get quite dysphoric feelings.
It might need a slower approach of getting used to it and bridge the differences between my inside look and what we have outside.

hey with all the $#%^ I'm going through right now....it's probably really important for you to see a doc and rule out a medical cause for those symptoms. it could actually be serious.

not trying to be over reacting...
.just. an ounce of prevention and all that.
