Empathizing with you. We would like to know as well. There's a genetic predisposition to MDD in both sides of our family. A number of our system members manifest it. Factor in our trauma history....

Have you ruled out physical causes?

We would recommend self-soothing to calm the insider in question, communication is key here. We use visualization exercises at times such as these.

Sorry to complicate the question, but what if the insider in question resists help?

I think it depends on why the part is depressed and why they might be resisting and then helping them deal with the why if you can. But sometimes you can't help someone and I think it's the same for parts. Sometimes they have to help themselves or at least want someone to help them.

Trying to talk as best as possible seems to help us like trying to work through everything
Sympathy, communication and thepary

That's what we find helps as best as possible but of course nothing is like that simple
