This thread is an invitation to all those who struggle because of Halloween, to come away with me to a far off place and experience adventures and discover beautiful places. Everyone is invited to join, Littles and Bigs and teens and SO's and everyone who wants to come. Please leave obvious triggers, scary things, difficult emotions in a different thread so we can travel light.
Let us create a story together!
Here are a few guidelines for improvising stories in a group. You don't have to follow them, if you don't want to.
1) „YES“, which means, say yes to the idea another person offered and go with the flow.
2) „YES AND...“ pick up their idea and ADD something you made up.
3) Statements: while you can ask others questions and let them invent something it is a lot more fun (and exciting) when you make bold statements about something you just made up. Its ok, because the others will do 1) and 2) which leads us to
4) there are no mistakes. You can't do anything wrong. Whatever you say will just be built into the story, that is what this is all about.
Again, please avoid scary stuff. If you miss the beginning you can still join us any time during the story, just make up an entrance you like and there you are.
Maybe we can start our journey in the early morning, down at the docks. It is an hour before dawn and there is no wind. Rustling noises can be heard, a bucket falls over and the cat that jumped on it disappears into the shadows. The waves wash against the pier softly with noises that sound like giggling and as the first morning sun breaks through the last fog, there are people getting visible. They make their way through the harbor and down to the pier where our ship is waiting. There is L who is holding a sleepy Maya, who is holding Stella, a particularly adventurous teddy bear. Annett comes trotting down to the water front with her new tool box. She had to go back because she wouldn't get on board without her tool box (she is that much in love with it). She is in high spirits, looking forward to an adventure. Who is joining us? And what do you bring?
