I have been having more frequent memory lapses lately too. I thought it was due to stress at first, but there will be times where I completely lose track of what day of the week it is which messes up my schedule if I’m at college because I end up missing events because of this. I also have been wondering if it’s the result of a new host or someone attempting to become the new host but failing to switch with me fully. I have a hard time telling if it’s just normal forgetfulness or straight up amnesia and people around me telling me that it’s normal for people to forget things like I do doesn’t help.
I have ADHD. Possibly have another mental disorder but am not certain.

I forget stuff like what day of the week, what month, even what season it is, on a regular basis. I probably ask 'what day is it' about 10 or 15 times a day. My watch shows the weekday and month/date, and my clock at my desk even displays the year, because I need to remind myself constantly. I don't know if that's amnesia or forgetfulness though?

For day-to-day stuff... I tend to think something like forgetting to pick up an item at the grocery store, or forgetting to put out the trash, is more like forgetfulness.

Whereas when you're halfway through a conversation with someone and realize you have no idea what's been said up to that point, or not being able to remember more than a few scattered 'snapshots' of the first 20 years of your life, seems more like amnesia.

I'd be sure to chant it at switches. I'd be sure to be sure of yourselves even if not really clear on what a switch is. For example it could be after reading, social media, into another room, mannerisms, facial expressions, phone ringing, emails, and watching televisions. It has to become a practice just like anything else then you will pick up on the patterns.

I worry about this too. It a daily conundrum. I have the added complication of having a family history of early onset dementia. I worry what if I am trying to hide dementia symptoms in DID symptoms. I worry that it just depends on which type of specialist I visit as to which diagnosis I could get. I mean they both depend on what I tell them to base their diagnosis on don't they. I know it's not that simple, and I don't have that sort of power. But in the middle of the night.....
