dissociating inside?

Postby birdsong87 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 2:19 pm

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if you know if it is possible for a part to dissociate while they are inside, not fronting.
I mean the kind of dissociation where they freeze and don't respond to anything anymore.

I think Danielle is in trouble, but I am not sure what the hell is going on.
Any ideas how to help her? She got all cold and like stone.

She may be on "paus" or she may have frozen herself. the first is that she is unplugged by the system, the second is that she has paused herself, in the later case she knows what is going on but dont react.
-But she may also live in her own inner world too, like inside a flashback...

Talking to them, let them listen to good music, and let them be part of good things is usually a good way to unfreeze them, but it may take several visits before they slowly wake up again. When they wake up you need to take extra care of them for a while.
If someone is paused by the system, then they are as close to dead as they possibly can be, and only the systemmanager can turn them on again, then they will be weak an very disoriented when they wake up an need some help to get back to life again.

last thing that happened was her reliving a lot of traumatic memory.
i feel like she is stuck in that experience.
she is usually very much about being present and grounded and stuff.

anything I can do to help her?

You were too fast for me ;) I edited my message and added some stuff you can do ;)
Sounds like she has got stuck in a traumamemory, But if you keep her company and give her input from your normal world, then she will find her way back to the normal world after a while.
-hope that the grounding and such stuff she knows dont get in the way , to live inside a traumamemory is as real as any other reality..

i will try, but i am not sure if she can sense anything at all.
she is exactly like when we go into complete dissociation/black out when in the body.

My experience with kids that gets stuck inside their flashbacks is that they dont react at all the fist time, after a few more visits they may have a tiny reaction, then after some more visits they one day is back to the normal world. It takes a while, sometimes a week or two before they wake up. And when they do, they are very weak and need a lot of love and support to be back to normal again.

Before we created the inner world which have helped them enourmously, i used to talk to them when they were inside their flashback too. do you think you can find a way to get in touch with them inside their flashback, then you have your solution there.
-maybe you can get her out front and work from there?

Hey Annett. Sorry Danielle's in trouble. I think TeddyBear is right - locked in a trauma memory. That's rough! I know you want to save her. Problem is you have to be gentle. Bump her too hard and she might fall deeper into the hole. Steady in the ranks.

Good luck,

When they say 'be yourself',
which one do they mean?
