Why do I want to live?

Hey, its me again. Im so depressed right now. I just turned 18 two days ago and im living in a foster home that I dont like. I have extended jurisdiction until im 19. Therefore, I dont know what the state will do if I run away from this foster home. I don't feel safe at this foster home and my case worker lied to me. She told me I wasn't going to be placed with a male but here I am, liviing in a house with a male. I dont want to be here. I wooke up crying this morning and I can barely sleep at nigiht. I don't know what to do....can somebdy please give me some advice, any advice?

Don't know much more what to say, except that I've been reading the poetry you posted here in the forum and it's beautiful.

I think you should confront your case worker and ask her why you were placed with that family when you were promised something else.

I can't get a hold of my case woker, her supervisor, or anyone else....all I can do is keep trying until someone picks up the phone

are you still in highschool? do you work?

what do you do during the day and night?

geez, all i can think of, is that there must be someone above your caseworker in the system you can contact to tell them u don't feel safe....iv'e been where u r at.....u will get through it.....i promise.but for now....make as much noise as a can to anyone in the system u have access to.....god, if i cud take a year from my life and give it to you, ud be nineteen, and makin' the calls...iwould if i could. keep posting, keep in touch, so we all here can make sure yer safe, and not in danger of any harm.......be well, be safe, hardcore

ok then, i would recommend trying your best to focus on your school work and then finding a job

that way you can move out, make new friends, and start a life on your own terms

Beatachicka really gave some excellent advice. Until you can get out on your own though please try to surround yourself with supportive people and positive outlets. Your poetry is a great one! I've found that even simple things like working on something artistic or watching a funny movie can really help to escape my family situation for a bit. Make sure you have a plan. Sometimes putting your ideas in a letter can really help when it's hard to get through on the phone. A lot of places have to respond with in a number of days when you put something in writing.

Have you ever been in independant living? Would it be a possibility?

Doesn't this mean she's declared under age until she is 19? If so, getting an apartment of her own may not be an option yet. It's worth looking into though.
