Loss of willpower

Postby Parador » Wed Mar 04, 2009 3:50 am

I've gained about 10 pounds lately and I can't lose it. It's disgusting. I can't stop from eating late at night though. I used to fast to enforce my willpower over food. But I have had trouble doing that too. I've just managed 25 hours though. I did have 3 mentos. But those don't count.

Willpower is important. 11 more hours without food to prove it.

You lift weights though, right? Consider yourself in a bulking phase. :) I wish I could gain 10 pounds. I actually want 60, but I'll take a mere 10....

Bulking around the gut is NOT a good thing. Any more weight and I'll have to buy all new pants.

I should be able to lose the 10 pounds in a couple of weeks. But I have a metabolism problem - it's from getting older. It just slows down and you don't lose as fast as you do when you're 20.

I've also been eating way to much chocolate and sweet stuff. Partly to counter the chalky sensation I am getting from the dental work. I am close to having those zircon crowns removed and having a type of porcelain called emax put in. I've posted before about that in the depression forum as well as here. It's been going on for 4 years now and it's wearing me out. Life's problems are sapping my willpower. I wonder how long it takes before it's all gone. I have needed it to cope with my avpd. Without it I might be living in a tent city or homeless shelter.

Can anyone spare some change? Just a little change?

Chocolate goes right to the stomach, anything with sugar will

Share the meal during all day( 4 or 5 times) but in small quantities.
Sometimes only a juice or some piece of fruit are enough to give you energy and the sugar your body needs. Vegetables are very rich in vitamins and fiber.
Don´t say NO to any aliment. If you want to eat some chocolate from time to time, no problem.
Yes, if you are doing lots of physical exercise, avoid eat lots of carbohydrates.
If you are taking some pills for depression or anxiety which make you to get weight and retain liquids, perhaps you should consult with your doctor.
A fantastic diet doesn´t exists.
Ah, one more thing, perhaps you could have a bood test made, in case you have an hormonal problem.

And don´t eat these giant hamburgers. huahhhhh

Sometimes if we have a long time without eating during the day, your body and you anxiety talk and take you to the fridge.
I´m younger than you, lol! only a little, but I have lose 15 kilos since I left some previous pills I used to have.

Oh god I could never do that, I'm awake for like 8 hours after that. I know it's good for you to not eat that late though. They say you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

I was going to play wii fit every day after my girlfriend got it for Christmas, but I missed a few days and I was afraid to go back because I didn't want it to yell at me, so I haven't played it for a few months! I wonder if guitar hero counts as exercise...

All what has been suggested will help you. If you are lifting weights then yeah you can put on weight. Try to stick to high protein diets while you weight lift......a lot of meat and certain nuts will keep any weight gain at just muscle. Eat chocolate in moderation.
