I hate people who try and twist words around to fit their agenda. Don't be a hypocrite.

I don´t know you, but I don´t want to discuss with you! Anyway, I didn´t feel guilty for anything I could say to you, because I know you don´t care of.
You can think whatever you want about me, I don´t care at all.

Most tolerant, accepting people are hypocrites. They are hypocrites because being accepting and tolerant doesn't mean liking people with similar views and values, it means putting up with people who do and think things that to you seem horrible and atrocious. People's moral superiority makes this almost impossible to accept. People who percieve themselves to be tolerant and accepting believe that everything they are tolerant and accepting of is good and nobody with a heart and soul could disaprove of it, and vice versa for the things that they dislike. The thing is, is that this is EXACTLY the same way that the haters and bigots feel.

A truely tolerant person needs to smile and wave at the people who hate their guts.

Yes. Apathy is the only tolerance. Tolerance is not liking something, it is putting up with it regardless of how you feel.

So in a way the Ku Klux Klan is very tolerant because they don't go out and kill african americans anymore?

I'm completely tolerant of other social minorities, and I constantly find myself drawn to other people on the fringes of society. But if there's one thing I can't stand it's when people consider themselves to be social minorities because it sounds good to them or whatever, when they actually have a huge social network of people just like them.

tol·er·ance

1. The capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.

2a. Leeway for variation from a standard.

2b. The permissible deviation from a specified value of a structural dimension, often expressed as a percent.

After taking a few minutes to consider this topic, I actually don't think I'm at all a tolerant person. I'm avoidant precisely because I can't tolerate other people. I'm not even an ordinary, small time bigot. I'm an equal opportunity bigot, a big picture kind of guy. I can hardly tolerate anyone. That's the whole point. That's why I avoid people. If that weren't the case, I wouldn't avoid people and I wouldn't have a problem. I wouldn't be here.

I'm intolerant, pure and simple, and the intolerance doesn't stem from any petty, shallow nonsense. It runs deep. What difference does someone's private, sexual preference make? Or anything else as small, for that matter? It's insignificant. The most flamboyant, liberal, outgoing, pansexual, crossdressing mental patient is still the same animal as the most stereotypically close minded, fundamentalist, backwards thinking, socially conservative whoever. I'm intolerant of the very essence of human beings. I can't even comprehend bothering with trivial details like sexual orientation or skin color. Whether people are on the social fringe or not is utterly irrelevant. My problem is with people.

Before I took the time to think this over, I cast my vote as 'apathetic.' Apparently, I can't go back and change it. So... yeah... If anyone's at all concerned with the vote count, which I doubt, just switch one of the 'apathetic' votes to 'intolerant' or 'not tolerant' or 'no.' Whichever it is.

Actually, I do get caught up in a few things that probably fit my description of "trivial details." I'm extraordinarily intolerant of anyone with the ambition to exert coercive control over me or anyone else... which is a whole lot of people, including many government officials, political activists, police officers, military personnel and just about every politician ever. Plus, Furries kind of creep me out, too. So, I guess all this makes me, like, the Grand Wizard of the KKK here on the AvPD forum.

Avoidance Personality is not the same as Avoidant people in general. Once many avoidants´ characteristics is that they feel fear of people because they doesn´t feel confident or feel inferior, they feel sadness, anxiety and so on, because they want to feel confident and show themselves when they are in contact with people.
