Yeh, we get Dilbert here but I never read it. As I understand, it's just about a guy who works in a rather strange office. Incompetent people like this lazy guy you work with are found in every organisation. What's pathetic about it is that there are probably 100's of unemployed people itching to get a job and who could do it much better than this guy (the lazy guy) could. The public service organisations here are notorious for hiring crappy workers. I'm sure that they could cut their workforce by a third and still function properly... ...People are just incredibly lazy. It depresses me because I have such a high work ethic.

Dilbert should be required reading in business school.
I have another guy who is capable of working full time but he doesn't want to lose his disability. He will only work weekends. So he calls my lazy guy at work all the time during the week wanting to talk. Then he complains that he doesn't have enough money. And he needs a front tooth. Instead of spending his money on that , he wants to blow what money he has on a Harley. He's got a motorbike but he has to have a BETTER one.

It's such a shame that people like these have jobs, while there are many thousands of others who want to work but can't find jobs. I've already mentioned this though, but it gets me very angry. Do you understand much about economics? I'd love to understand more about markets and things such as hedgefunds. To me, it seems that the markets are operated by a bunch of incompetent losers.

I've never really studied hedge funds - only rich people do those.
And you can lose money. Have you read about that Madoff guy? It turned out to be a $50 billion ponzi scheme. Some people lost hundreds of millions. One guy killed himslf a week ago after he lost everything. You are supposed to spread out your investments. Lots of these rich investor types aren't really that smart I guess.
Ever hear of the Hunt brothers? Back in the 80's they tried to corner the world silver market and lost billions. They were just dolts who had inherited billions from their father.

Hey,
Yeh, I heard of the Madoff scandal, and the guy who subsequently committed suicide because of it. He cut his wrists with a paperletter-opener knife apparently. I have not heard of the Hunt brothers though. My brother actually works for a company that operate a hedge fund, but they are doing quite well despite the whole economy collapsing around them. I guess, if you are successful on the markets, you can make money irrespective of how $#%^ the market overall is doing.
