I remember crying myself to sleep a few times when I was young before I knew I had problems, tho I can now see it was probably anxiety related. Then a few times after i discovered my that something was off. But it's been many years now, beside at the end of a few movies, and I mostly get depressed without sadness it seems.

A real life Shinji wrote:Its weird. With every passing month I find it more difficult to cry.
I still feel just as sad but it won't translate to tears. Maybe I've become so used to sadness and pain I'm becoming desensitised to it.
That happens, especially if you are trained (by social influences) to suppress it.
It also happens when you're tired or depressed -- sometimes the spirit gets "numb" and you don't feel much at all.
Do you have any happy periods, or is everything rather "flat" and bland?

It occurred to me that I never actually answered my own question. Anyway, I cry occasionally. It's usually in the response of some sad event on television or on film. Regarding real-life situations, I only really get teary-eyed. I don't know why that is...maybe life is more boring than art?
Tiny tears make up an ocean, tiny tears make up a sea...
