Age in alters

Postby LittleRedDogToo » Tue Nov 29, 2011 2:05 am

Is it possible for alters to change ages?

I ask because I can't figure out if I have three Cs or one C that changes ages.

Yes.

Mine split at a certain age - mostly under a year of age. They grow to a certain age then stop. My oldest is 18 inside.

However I have had 18 parts as host. When they go back inside they choose to be an age they want I suppose, but none of them are over 18 in there even though as host they were way over this age.

From what I gather from my system, is that they can choose to stop growing. I don't know if they can change in age or not. I'm still learning.

Yup. I kinda get thrown off on the age thing to, as I have a couple that have appeared as young but then later older, or banshee was... IDK how old, but then showed me what she looked like when she was younger and host.

yes, they're called age sliders. able to flip flop or slide between different ages.

no, don't know how it works.

we've a young girl who says her age is 7-8-9. /shrug.

it's been said before that *i'm* a slider as well and i'm considered the owner-of-the-body. don't know how that works either. /shrugshrug.

Ask C. There can be others that are able to split off inside one minute and back together the next second. And appearances are just that- a appearace. A mask.

You can have an other that is 20 and she can look like a baby. They pick how they present themselves to everyone else.

Yes, we have a few age-sliders/shifters ourselves. It's definitely possible for age to change. Although in your case, your best bet would be to ask C and see if they will tell you which it is.

I age slide, but that's actually not a sure fire way to tell. I slide to 14 or 18, normally being 16. But I used to think I could slide to being just a teen, as well. But that version of me seemed seperate, not like me. She still went by RAGE, she still had things in common with me... we didn't realize Teen RAGE and I were seperate until Kayden started spelling my name Rage and hers RAGE. Then she started acting as herself, and is now a pretty prominant fronter all on her own.

Some people have animal, dead, or inanimate alters, so alters who change age don't seem that surprising to me. My system doesn't seem to have age-shifters. Most are the age of the body when they went inside into hibernation. At least one was created to be older than the body. Quato may have lied about his but now we can't remember. And we can't quite pinpoint Dan's age but whatever it is, it doesn't shift. All in all, age seems to be logical in my system, as logical as it can be in one body when the ages range from 1 to around 70!
Dx = DID. My blog. My personal Periodic Table of 78 alters.

There are several in our system who age slide, including our main.
