Is Prozac or munching on food better to combat S.A.D.? A potential side effect of Prozac is suicidality, but munching can enable negative thinking. Munching alone leads to self-pity and self-hate, while munching with others, friends and strangers, can weaken the capacity for independent thinking, especially if alcohol is involved.
Is this question rhetorical?

If I had severe SAD, I would consider visiting or moving to Arizona. If not possible, generous amounts of Vitamin D3 and perhaps a mood light. I'm not sure what you're getting at with munching. I think everyone uses food as a coping mechanism when depressed. Anti-depressants are also very effective for some people.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

Munching....I don’t self-medicate with food, but what type of foods are you talking about?
Raw veggies, salsa as a dip, fresh fruit, whole grains, etc.?

Eating healthy, exercising, while taking meds helps.
