Animals and Object "Talking" to You

Postby AEJ » Wed Sep 19, 2012 6:28 pm

I was sitting on my porch a few minutes ago, having a smoke when a hummingbird flew up and started sipping on my hummingbird feeder about a foot away from me. This isn't uncommon: three hummingbirds eat out of it all day, everyday and they will fly up really close to me quite often. What is uncommon is that I distinctly heard the bird say, in a Cockney accent, "This 'ere is good drink."

I've heard these types of hallucinations a few times, but they always fascinate me. Tell me about some experiences hearing animals or objects talking to you. It would also be interesting to hear experiences where you thought a person was talking to you, but they actually didn't.

Unfortunately, animals don't talk to me :( I kind of wish they did though. I'd rather have animals talkin to me than objects.
Objects talk to me so often it's hard to pin point one particular time when they did. I rarely have conversations with them, but they usually Just say hi to me. Hm... HAVE I eve had a conversation with one...? They are usually fairly unsocial... Um... Not that I can remember xD they usually just talk among themselves :P

My therapist has a dog at her sessions, and a couple sessions ago, I thought that God inhibited her dogs' body and we had a rather lengthy disscussion on my deceased mother, and weather or not I should forgive her for her abuse.

I'm not schizophrenic, but there are times...when I'm alone... I hear the radio playing music and it's not even on. I go to turn the volume up, but realize it's not even on. I hear music in my head sometimes too... I just go with it.

one of the funniest hallucinations was when walking down the street with music on singing. i was just looking down the sidewalk at the houses, and these translucent-blue marshmellow bubble guys started popping out of corners. they were kind of smiling or neutral, and they were tall and kind of skinny as well. they didnt go after me or anything they would just pop up around corners.

i think theyre starting to translate dogs now, but i would have to be there. try talking to a dog or cat about existentialism. just be like "its for no reason" then they'll look at the ground.

I don't get animals talking to me but I do hallucinate animals. I was a university a few weeks back and I "had" a lizard at my feet and a wolverine sitting next to me. Scared the crap out of me.
In hindsight it was funny but not at the time.

Well, I'm rather good at reading expressions, and can have my expectations speak for people as well as animals some rare times.
Often there's just an implicit "knowing" that someone or something or some dog next to me is feelthinking something appropriate, and conformation comes in the form of vocal or facial or behavioral expression.

On the side of hallucinations, when I was young I would see shadows take shape, and was afraid of the dark for it. On one occasion I had been taking a run when I rounded a corner to come to a screeching halt before what looked like a six foot tall wolf-shadow shape with fangs and the piercing red eyes that paralyzed me there for awhile. So certain I'd die, finally the will to survive kicked in and I ran so hard as I could in the opposite direction.

I don't "Hear" things, not auditory as I used to, but when I had room mates through thin walls, well, that wasn't all hallucination, but it did breed paranoia.

I can hear a thing singing, or "Ringing" I guess, when say, I throw a stick up into the air, and every time it turns a subsonic "Wub" plays in my conscious. listening to that I can hit some pretty amazing pre-cog moments when I know that several "Wubs" in I can hit it with this other stick, then I suppose the second stick's timing is pre-calculated to coincide with the right rotation and "Wub" for the spinning, falling stick I intend to hit.
