Schizophrenia and learning impairments.

Postby seramthgin » Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:16 pm

I was hoping to find out some new ways to increase my ability to learn, retain information, improve recall, and improve other cognitive deficits associated with schizophrenia. I would like to know of any medications, practices, and or methods to do this. If anyone has anything they have used or find helpful please let me know.
Thank you,

alot of things can help. you can find them in the brain section of vitamin shoppe. i personally take, piracetam/oxiracetam/b-vitamin complex/phosphatdylserine complex, alpha-gpc, niacinamide, omega3/6/9, nicotine, antioxidants, multivitamin. some thing called focus factor from walmart sometimes.

things i found to make me messed up. phenylalanine, l-carintine, citicholine, royal jelly, 5htp. its trial and error. also stay away from stimulants, but modafinil does work for some people. try lowering your dose if you get messed up.

also please note that this might do nothing for you, it just depends on what the brain is missing and try to power it up kind of.

For studying and a test, I would feel safe with nicotine, alpha-gpc, piracetam and focus factor. NMDA hypofunction, and hippocampus irregularities are linked to the cognitive symptoms. Vigilance is tied with schizophrenic abnormalities for me, so when I feel normal my energy levels are too low. Its all about riding the wave with schizophrenia and cognition. My brain goes from being too fast to too slow.

Also my brain doesn't feel full, it did for about 2 days of NAC. I don't know if its in a better state now, but I was severely depressed and came out of it for a couple days. Now I'm fine, but glutathione seems to maybe change something with schizophrenia. Its mostly too erratic for anything to really target it.
