What psychiatrist should be aware of

Postby Storm » Tue Aug 02, 2005 11:29 am

Well I can't speak for all schizo's out there...so I can only speak from my experience.Coming in out of the war zone of the mind..and ending up being interviewed by a psychiatrist,I was'nt actually forthcoming with my psychotic episodes..through fear of being "locked up" and confined in "rubber rooms" basically losing my freedom or "the Game".So when my doctor asked me"Do you have any thoughts about harming yourself or others?" I replied "No, just myself"(I have slash scars all over my wrists)...anyway the point is, he asked me in "present tense".So basically i felt let off the hook...He should have asked me"Did you have thoughts of harming yourself or others?"...hmmm.If I had told him ,yes i did and yes i do reflect on it now and then...I don't where i would have ended up.Being so paranoid breeds resentment however unfounded and it just compounds with other negative factors...and obviously you can snap...and act out your fantasies.Well I'm straying from the point, what my doctor has on file about me is incomplete.Doctors must reassure patients, and show examples(hypothetical ones) of patients with similar experiences and of there treatment.I was very deceptive and only gave him a mild interpretation of my experiences.I think you get the point.  :D

I have thoughts about harming others. I used to have them every day. They're fantasies that I would never act out. I wouldn't snap unless I was in a rage or forced to.
