Never-ending self dialogue

Postby Rrrlobster » Wed Aug 22, 2007 10:23 am

I just want to know if this is considered normal.

Is it normal to have a constant self-running dialogue in your head of what you are doing? It's your own voice, but it's more than one of 'you', and they constantly talk to one another, speaking in long, drawn out conversations just to reassure something as simple as needing to go to the gas station to get food. I always know what they're going to say, and what the 'end point' is, but they have a life of their own.

For me, I can never quiet myself, and often I repeat the same sentences the voices say over and over in my head, almost admiring them, or something.

I just want to know if it's something common someone here might share, and maybe what they do to stop the voices. My life feels like a story book now.

Since my episode I have a lot of thoughts. The cloud of thoughts is so thick at times that I have to slow down all my actions to process all that junk. But I don't have long conversations with myself.

I've never had an 'episode' before, but when I'm alone, my thoughts race in circles, nonstop, and sometimes I have to stop things, too. and go "OK OK OK OK" in my head and try to sort everything out all mechanically like. It's times like that when thoughts invade, like they're taking advantage of the chaos.
