Black and white flashes

I occasionally have momentary black and white flashes (everything turns either black or white for a second). Could this be considered a form of hallucination? I have schizophrenia, but it's more of the paranoid type. Other than this,(and possibly one or two instances when I was a young child and thought I heard a voice calling my name) I haven't had anything that I would consider a hallucination.

Hi there! I have EXACTLY the same problem. I'm schizoaffective and every single one of my hallucinations are internal. Sometimes I get these bizarre flashbacks and hallucinate internally in black and white. Just the other day as I was going up the stairs I saw something that looked like a demonic entity standing at the end of the hallway. It was all in black and white. It looks as if I'm looking in an old grainy black and white movie. It feels sometimes as if I'm looking at black and white animated films. I also had nightmares in black in white which were horrible to say the least. The blood was in color though. It's very strange that somebody else also has a similar problem. I thought I was the only one! But can I ask a question, are these flashes internal or external? I don't know why it would make a difference but I'm just wondering. Whenever I see something in black and white I know that I'm going to see something horrible. It's like an alternate dimension of perception that I can invoke whenever I want when I'm off the medication. I wonder what the significance of black and white is but there is a reason (at least for me.) Everything I see is symbolic of something and I'm still trying to figure what the black and white hallucination means.
