How do you know the difference? Last night I woke up because I heard a song playing. It was like band music and it just kept playing over and over again. It caused me to lie wide awake and didn't let me go back to sleep. But I know some people hear things at night and it's normal so how do you tell the difference?

Usually thoughts and your inner voice are distinguishable from noises you hear although noises definitely affect your thoughts. I've heard noises and felt like they were "meant just for me" like on the radio or whatever. I try to avoid TV/Radio/Music/Movies when I'm having an episode. They can aggravate it.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.
