I have taken seroquel from 50 mg up to 800 mg. It always makes me very drousy, and the only thing I can do to combat it is drink an endless supply of caffine, or 5 hour energy (which has at these volumes it's own negative side effects), to avoid sleeping 10 hours a night. Seroquel XR is better, you can take it a few hours before you sleep and you won't sleep as long I've noticed. Or it's easier to stay awake when you wake up if it has been 10 hours since you took it. Seroquel XR doesn't immediately knock you out like Seroquel does.
Sometimes I forget very basic words (like guardrail e.g.), stuff that I can't recall but normally is easy to remember. I'm in grad school right now, and the academic stuff for tests doesn't seem to be worse now than before for me.
These medications also cause weight gain, I haven't had much trouble with them in this area, but I know many people have more adverse reactions to it. My doctor doesn't like the idea of drug shopping to find the right one. I think you should try to find one you are good with, keep pushing to try different types and see which you react to best.
