Id like to hear from some people that have schizophrenia and there challenges in either finding work, or holding down a job.
I have worked in the past on a casual basis, but sometimes the stress was too much and would trigger a mini-eposide. At the moment I feel I am much better working from home and working at my own pace.
I sell stuff on ebay, and have recorded and produced a Quit Smoking CD, which I am in the process of selling and marketing which will also be available as a digital download worldwide.

You can set up a seller account with ebay and sell stuff around your house, or go to garage sales and try to find bargains, and sell them for a profit. My Mum had alot of stuff she didnt want anymore, so she gave them to me, and I put them on ebay.
Its not a full income, but its a bit on the side for me, basically the more stuff you have to sell, the more you can make.

I have been holding down a job since I was diagnosed 3 years ago. It has been hard especially during my psychotic episodes. I had to take sick leave for a number of weeks twice. Luckily there are laws here in Canada that prevent companies from firing people based on a mental disability. Now they are closing the factory that I work at so I have to look for a job. I have so many insecurities. Will I be able to work effectively while on the medication? Will I be able to handle the stress of a new job? Will I be able to handle the social anxiety of working with new people?

congrats on being able to work for 3 years! Thats quite an achievement for someone with schizophrenia. I have worked on and off, but yeah its hard. It can be bad enough with the stigma of the illness let alone not being able to work, at times.
Maybe try and find a job that has low stress levels associated with it.
