Feeling surrounded

Postby cthulhucakes » Sun Dec 23, 2012 9:34 pm

It's come to that awful time of year where my house is once again packed. I live with 7 other people but it isn't *too* awful most of the time (it's pretty fvcking awful) because people are usually sleeping, at work, I'm at school, or whatever. When we all have off at times like this I get extremely stressed out. I've had a massive headache for a few weeks and just am ready to explode in a rage at every second. This feeling of being totally surrounded and not having any room to myself is going to be the death of me. I feel like I can never be relaxed at home to begin with, but this definitely intensifies it. Does anyone else get like this? I'm ready to jump out the window.

Oh, and a fun little thing: I'm really allergic to one food that my family cooks with for Christmas. It's a "tradition" and they refuse to stop using it despite my discomfort. Just having it in the air closes my throat pretty nicely. Does anyone else have fun little holiday stories?

Advice: Leave the house?
No I got it. Wear a gas mask.

My family is pretty close. We have a tradition of sorts where we meet on Fridays at my grandma's house. I used to go every week as a kid. So it's not like I'm surrounded by strangers during Christmas, one of my cousins and my uncles are okay.

I don't think I have a fun Christmas stories. Once my cousin put some fake crap on the floor and blamed it on the dog.

I'm mostly indifferent to the whole "family" thing at christmas, but I don't actively resent it. For the last few years the christmas break has been down-time from uni, so I normally enjoy that aspect rather than the family gatherings.

Yes I get like that whenever I have to go visit my family, every person asking the same friggin questions over and over again. It feels like my head is going to explode. Then you got old people I don't even know starring at me, telling my how the last time they seen me I was a baby like I give a damn. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

I also get like this whenever I go to a crowded store like walmart, even if no one talks to me.

I live alone. Therefore, I have no such problems. I keep my family at a safe distance (aka facebook)

Other than that, I'm pretty much chillin'.

This.

Except instead of keeping family at a distance by facebook (which I don't have and neither do they), I just ignore them or remain aloof when they forcefully try interact with me. They get the point now though, so they don't bother contacting me anymore.

How, how do you even? Do you at least have a lock on your door?
