Intrusive Aunt who had divided family

Postby yumyum66 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 7:32 pm

I would appreciate some feedback on the letter further below:

For information, Kim is my ex wife, Lois is her Mother and the author of the letter is Lois's sister and therefore Kim's Aunt (Clare).

It was sent to Lois/Clares' parents and Kim was Cc'd.

Unfortunately Clare has a strong character and a vivid imagination. Lois has always been a wonderful Mother to Kim but Kim is no longer talking to her because Clare intrusion has caused her to question Lois as a parent. The whole thing has been heart breaking to watch. Clare is operating like a cult leader and Kim has been taken in.

The letter:

Hi mum
I am sending you this thought for today. If only Lois
could see life this way.
I am very upset for Kim at the moment. I think it is so
damaging that Lois makes this stupid email contact
pretending there is nothing wrong. How can she be so
shallow and continue to ignore the searing words that Kim
has sent in in those two long and painful emails. She
clearly does not discuss the content of them with anyone
else in the way she tells everyone how much she has tried
to do to put things right with Kim. I fully understand
why Kim wants nothing to do with her for the time being.
I don't think it would work out. Kim is very fragile and
sensitive right now and I think it would be too draining
for her to see Lois with her self pitying controlling
behaviour. Kim is keen to speak out and say what she
feels. We have been having some quite heated
conversations and this is very encouraging even though it
is a bit tiring at times. Awful to think that in 44 years
she has not expressed her feeling truly.
Paul really needs to keep out of this whole situation as
he has no grasp on the history of it all. Kim has had a
problem with her mum since she was a small child. In her
early teens when she started to come and stay with me and
Tony she was totally screwed up then. It has continued
and she used to pour her heart out to me and Ken on my
visits about how Lois didn't care about her etc. I spoke
to all the family over the years about Kim and Lois and
Kim and Ken's relationship as I realised Kim was becoming
more and more damaged as the years passed.
In a way I wanted it to be addressed as it would have made
things easier and more normal for me. Lois blames me for
Kim's close bond. I have never needed that it has become
that way through circumstance. I tried through you and
dad and directly with Lois to make someone else pick up
some of Kim's pain. Her marriage was very unhappy and Ken
was a total bully and control freak over the years. I
frequently told him this. When I saw all the vile
clothes he had ordered for Kim to wear to make her look
like a cheap tart I was appalled. No wonder she had to
get pissed off her face from Friday to Sunday to live that
life.
I have found this past year exhausting and I know it has
taken its toll on you and dad. If Paul thinks Lois is so
bloody good maybe he needs to listen to Kim a bit more and
also instead of treating me like the devil in all this he
should speak to me. I am very hurt by Paul making
judgement on me in this way. Lois is a vile woman who
will stop at nothing to be in the position she wants to be
in. She has hurt me many times over the years with her
snobby self centred ways and has never given me an ounce
of support throughout our lives as sisters.
I will never ever speak to Lois again in my life and I
hope she has a very lonely old age when her silly vanity
can no longer sustain her. She is and always has been
from cradle to now a vain, spoilt and manipulative bitch.
She does not deserve to have Kim as her daughter. How
can someone be deserving of the title MOTHER when they
behave how Lois has over the years.
Poor Kim has become a victim since she came away from
Muswell Hill to live in Thetford. Caught up in Lois and
Ray's volatile relationship. Seeing Ray bullied
constantly by Lois and she also being manipulated and
scared by Lois. Being abused by a family friend and
having it brushed under the carpet, a teenage pregnancy
again brushed under the carpet, losing that baby before
she managed to have Danny, being bullied and abused by Ken
and then Danny within her marriage and then in that weird
gang of six, Chris and Emma, Lois and Tony and Kim and Ken
with their daft one up man ship I saw Kim become like an
empty shell as her illness was ignored by those selfish
pratts and she went down and down over a period of 3 years
while everyone pretended she just needed more exercise or
needed to go out in Ken's van or any other excuse that
would make the inconvenience go away. No wonder she
always claimed to be fine....Ken had her under orders not
to be ill.
I needed to get this off my chest as I have a very strong
urge to go to Croxton and give Lois a good slapping and I
also want to tell Paul that he is being very stupid
getting involved with Lois as he has far more important
things to be worrying about. She may have helped him out
but I bet if he asked for help when she was busy doing
something else she would refuse. She added that visit to
her good mother and person CV I'm sure.
I will speak to you in the week about the arrangements for
the weekend. Laura and Stuart have booked into the Bell
for the night as a special treat. So rare for Stuart to
be free on a Saturday night.
Lots of love
Clare x x

Hi, yumyum66! Maybe your ex has her reasons for not talking to her mother and she needs to figure things out for herself right now. If her aunt is trying to manipulate her, she'll see through it eventually.
Do you think that posting this letter on an open forum is a good idea? There are no full names used here but still...

Hi Jasmine,

Thanks for looking at my post. The reason I posted the letter is because it is the letter I'm most interested in. I'm afraid the aunt has influenced Kim all her life so she is unlikely to ever see through the aunt. To me this letter is full of suggestion and pretty much exhibits how she influences Kim. I am interested to see what others think about it.

Ken

There's still hope that she'll see the truth, lots of people eventually get away from their manipulators.
Hey, maybe more people will post, stick around!

I suspect that she won't see the manipulations or truth about who the letter writer is, until she is the target of the letter writer's harsh words and judgment.
